Do you skimp on fruit for fear of getting fat? Some of them are really high in calories, but the nutrients make up for it – they are vitamins, fiber and antioxidants, which protect cells, skin and intestines. No wonder the WHO (World Health Organization) suggests consuming at least three servings of fruit per day.
“To reduce the risk of disrupting the dietwhenever possible, try to consume them with the peel or other sources of fibers (oats, flaxseed flour), good fat (nuts) or lean protein (yogurt, cheese)”, teaches Carolina Baliere, nutritionist from Rio de Janeiro.
