Vânia Beletate explains that the green banana can also play an important role in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. “This is because, according to some scientific studies, the consumption of resistant starch acts to reduce cholesterol, by reducing its production by the liver, and by increasing its elimination by bile acids”, he highlights.

According to nutritionist Vânia, to promote satiety, a tip is to consume green banana biomass in juices between meals, for example. “The suggested consumption is around two tablespoons of biomass per day”, she says.

  2. In a pressure cooker, boil enough water to cover the bananas. Place unpeeled bananas in boiling water (to create thermal shock).
  3. Cover the pot and, from the beginning of the pressure, count 8 minutes. Turn off and let the bananas cook for up to 20 minutes of cooking.
  4. At the end of cooking, keep the bananas in the hot water of the pan.
  5. Gradually, remove the rind from the pulp, which must be passed immediately in the blender.
  6. So that it doesn’t crumble, the pulp must be very hot.
  7. Add enough mineral water to make a cream.
  8. Store the mixture in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Vânia adds that the biomass can be placed in ice cube trays and taken to the freezer. In this way, it can be kept for up to four months.
