Because they are highly concentrated, you absolutely cannot apply them directly to the skin. The right thing is to add a small amount to something you use on a daily basis. Some examples are natural vegetable oil, moisturizer, mask, body massage creams and even clay. The experts explain how to make each preparation:

Diluted in a base oil: “Some essential oils carry a higher risk of sensitization. In these cases, they must be mixed into base oils (avocado, macadamia, sweet almond, linseed, sunflower, olive, rosehip, grape seed or coconut). It is recommended to use an average of one drop of essential oil for three drops of foundation”, advises dermatologist and trichologist Damaris Ortolan, from SBD.
In conjunction with daily use products: “in this case, just add a few drops of the essential oil to your daily use products (cleansers, moisturizing lotiontonics and even shampoo and conditioner),” continues Damaris.
Masks: separate a little of your favorite face mask (only enough for one use), drip two drops, mix and that’s it. Apply to the face and let it act as recommended by the product.
Compresses: woke up with any muscle pain or torticollis? Place two to five drops on a towel and press over the area. Wait 15 minutes.
