Don’t fall in love with me now

Look, I’m not going to lie, I’ve always been very romantic, dreamy, who aspires to great love like those in movies and fairy tales. I’ve always preferred romances and when it comes to love, I’ve always idealized and dreamed of my soulmate and, of course, my “happily ever after”.

But, now, I confess that I’m not at my best moment, I don’t know if I believe in love and if in fact one day I will have someone in my life, as I always dreamed…

I wouldn’t say that all this romanticism I have inside is gone or lost around. I just think maybe my pains are just getting louder at the moment and making me a little skeptical about it all. That’s why I ask you: don’t fall in love with me now. I know this isn’t something we ask someone like that, but it’s for the best, you know? I’ve already made up my mind.

I feel like now is not the time to try a new relationship, I still carry some regrets inside of me. I’m very afraid of getting hurt again and also I may not notice you or realize how amazing you can be and end up trying to get you away from me for fear of hurting you.

I really feel like I won’t be able to love you the way you deserve and I can still seem callous in fear of getting involved with someone again…

People keep telling me that with you it can be different that I need to try and allow myself, and if it doesn’t work out, no problem. But it’s not that simple, at least it never was for me… I think I need to be alone for a while, regroup, try to understand what’s going on and process the facts in my head.
