History

The story of this powerful Centella Ndoki emerges from the Congo; It is said that in a place where the land was divided by the presence of two rivers, a large whirlpool occurred, where two tribes of the ancient inhabitants of that territory found themselves in conflict.

By then, this whirlpool enveloped the warriors who were fighting, leaving them covered in brown so they could not be seen by their enemies, which made it easier for this tribe to decimate each of the warriors on the opposite side.

In the end, victory was achieved by the army that was painted blood red, and a woman with an ebony complexion arrived at his side, equipped with a staff with several Kiumbas hanging from it and with brown and purple ribbons. She was received by the king of this tribe, who was Nkulu, who sat her in a circle made by a bonfire, which was the place for women.

The king then asks him who he is and where he comes from; to which she responds with the following words: “I am the prayer of your men, the one who is always at your side, the one who escapes for you, I am the night without moon or stars, the one whom the army never sees, but who It is always in your battles; “They believe in me, because I am death made woman.”

After this the king retires to rest but in the morning he finds that this woman was still where he had left her and therefore he asks her in surprise. What do you want from me?, to which she responds. That she simply wanted him, because she had fallen in love with his fierceness, his intelligence, sagacity and loyalty to his entire tribe.

She was captivated by the wisdom and justice of this king, and wanted to be able to learn from her tribe to be as faithful as they were; Well, she needed to know how she could avoid the fear of her departure or arrival to her own kingdom, which was the cemetery, also knowing what it was like to have joy and happiness.

That is why King Nkulu takes him as his wife, who would be number nine, and he does this by making the decision, after nine days, while a great spark resounds, appearing at that moment, nine piles of gold, which are the dowries of this new queen, the youngest of all his wives.

This wife would give her king nine children, of which there would be four females and five males. The first of them who would be male was destined to inherit this entire kingdom, which is precisely that of the Zulu. The queen was called Centella Ndoky, as a tribute to the centella that gave rise to the riches received.

The king always wisely used the spark in battle, as well as the whirlpool of Nfumbis, as a way in which he could protect all his people. But Centella Ndoki begins to have problems with this same town, nine days after the departure of King Nkulu; all this because of her other wives, she being discredited and forgotten by everyone.

It is then the moment when Centella Ndoki decides to address them and demonstrate to them, in the Finda field. You have taught me a lot, even more so your king, but now you are showing yourself what treason is, and you have made me a prey to it; That’s why I’m leaving, but you’ll always see me, because I won’t stop seeing you.

I am leaving to unite with someone, I will never be separated again, and united with me we will be one, so that they can hear my voice, because now I must be the one who accepts them or not. Saying this, she turned around, and was surrounded by the whirlpool of Nfumbis, and then in a flash she disappeared.

Who is it?

When we investigated Centella Ndoki, we found that it is the one known to be the protective spirit of cemeteries, Campo Finda or Campo Santo; Whatever you want to call it, the truth is that this is a deity that is considered the queen of all the dead, or as many identify them by calling them Eggun.

In the Palo Mayombe cults, this is a conga goddess, very feared, as she has control of everything that happens in cemeteries, and those manifestations related to the dead as well as storms. Well, she has control of the sparkles and the whirlpools, being identified not only as Centella Ndoki, but also as:

Fundi plaza liri ntoto chamalongo yanza furi llandoki

Since this is the name that is usually used by the Mayomberos, when they invoke her; Because many of them possess her goddess and try to keep her locked up in her houses, so that she protects them from all the negative and dark energies that may attack them. With this they guarantee her safety, well-being as well as her own health.

Because she is a spirit, she is considered a Nganga, which is usually identified within Santeria as Oya, who is the sister of Oshun and Yemaya. She, therefore, has many traits that make her similar to this Orisha belonging to the Yoruba culture.

If the Mayomberos’ house is full of many dead people considered Nfumbes, Centella Ndoki can be kept inside this house, in a Mayombe temple, and this is for the purpose of protecting and controlling the presence of these dead people.

Well, Centella Ndoki appeases the dead and thereby allows the inhabitants of the house to live in peace and serenity. But this is a goddess that is invoked for both good and bad purposes, as it is quite effective, which is why many not only use it to do good deeds, but some use it for evil purposes.

All this is made easier for Centella Ndoki, because she is the queen of all these spirits, being the one who holds the doors of the spiritual world in her hands, and for this reason, she is the mother of all the dead, even those who have lost life violently, with anguish or surprise; being mostly those who are still attached to the earthly world.

These spirits called Nfumbes, since they left unexpectedly, seek to communicate with living people, to be able to leave them their messages or express their feelings, and this for some Mayomberos, tends to be considered annoying or disturbing spirits.

They are spirits that manifest themselves at night, making some sounds, scratching or knocking things over, since they move on a different plane than that on which living beings live on earth.

They refuse to accept their own death, and for this reason they do not have eternal rest, thereby moving to the next spiritual plane. And it is precisely with this type of spirits that the Mayomberos become familiar within their culture, to make it part of their spiritual framework.

The Mayomberos adopt them in the name of Ndoki, so that Centella Ndoki can manipulate them as spiritual entities and for her to take them as an adoptive mother, in order to correct their behavior and contain all their manifestations.

This is a fascinating spiritual world, which is difficult to understand, but which is latent among us all. In the world there are a large number of entities that are dark, and they are precisely those that are found by witches, with the purpose of adopting them and taking them with them. The cemetery being the place where these types of spirits are present, since they have been buried there.

But it is not the only place where they can be found, since many are wandering around hospitals, in the seas, mountains and even on the roads. Many of these spirits that do not accept their fate are still inside the cars where they lost their lives, and in this way in many other places.

All of these spirits are considered part of Ngurufinda; that become garments and foundations in the culture of Palo Mayombe. But it is considered that the spirits that are easiest to handle are those that do not receive an adequate burial, since they have been abandoned or left at the time of death.

These types of spirits can be handled by Lum Kam Kazir, who is known as the devil, and is the one who drags them to hell, so that from there they are at the service of demonic groups.

The followers of the Mayombe culture do not use this type of spirits, since they are considered evil entities that over time could become demons themselves. (We invite you to get to know Lucero Mundo)
