the photographer from Bahia Rui Rezende is passionate about Chapada Diamantina. This region, protected by a National Park, has some of the most incredible natural landscapes in Brazil.
Having lived in Chapada for 8 years, Rezende recorded the beauty of the region’s cayons, valleys and hills, as well as aspects of the fauna and flora that often go unnoticed by tourists. The result is in the book Chapada Diamantia — Um Paraíso Desconhecido, which took 8 years to produce and is available for purchase on its website. “It was as if I had ‘collected’ the places, assembling a gigantic jigsaw puzzle with the 27 municipalities that make up the Chapada”.

To visit Chapada Diamantina, the most recommended thing is to go to Salvador (BA) and, from there, to the city of Lençóis (BA), gateway to the National Park. The trip from Salvador to Lençóis takes about 6 hours by car and an hour by plane.
