Jad Issa, a man with Down syndrome, not only had a son with his wife, but also raised him to become a doctor.

A father who showered his baby with all the love in the world

When son Sader was born, he was welcomed into the family and pampered as much as any other child would normally be. Sader tells us that he remembers feeling very loved as a child, and that his father spent time with him playing wrestling, thumb games, and other games. The local community has also supported the family and accepted them for who they are.

He worked hard so that his son could fulfill his dreams.

Having big dreams for his son, the father, Jad, who worked at a wheat mill, started saving money for college. He did everything in his power to support his family and, according to Sader, his father’s hard work and commitment to giving him the best possible future inspired him to study hard and to become a doctor. “I think I would have been a lot less excited about life and a lot less passionate about what I do if I didn’t have my special dad,” he wrote in the caption of a photo with his dad.

Sader is now a dentist, one of the best and highest paid careers in Syria, and Jad’s happiness knows no bounds. When his son was still studying, Jad introduced him to people, saying: “My son is a doctor”, with a twinkle in his eye.

The family is living proof that stereotypes must be broken

Speaking about the relationship between his parents, Sader told us that despite being together for decadesthe love between them is still as if they were married yesterday. The two understand each other’s needs perfectly. They love to go for walks together and sometimes they just sit and talk for hours.

Sader credits his father for his success and admits to being as proud of him as his father is of him. The inspirational duo love watching movies in their spare time.
