Choose french fries when going off the diet –

Imagine the following situation: you decided to skip the diet and, in front of you, there is a plate of pasta and a portion of french fries. And there? Which would you choose? Science says you should go for the latter.

Yes, enjoying potatoes is better than enjoying a plate of noodle!

To solve this doubt, British researchers from Leatherhead Food Research provided some people with breakfast, a carbohydrate-based lunch and dinner for five days.

The first and last meals of the day were the same throughout the study period. Lunch, despite always having a similar number of calories, varied according to the day: in some, participants received meatballs, salad and a noodle dish and in others they received meatballs, salad and a dish of potatoes (fried, roasted or mashed).

During the afternoons, all were interviewed and, on the days when they ate french fries, they reported being more satisfied when compared to the other days.

And the good news doesn’t stop there: despite not having been measured, scholars believe that consuming the fried portion makes us less hungry at dinner, preventing excessive calorie consumption before going to bed.

Despite the scientific finding, don’t think that fried foods are goodies in the diet! In fact, they should be off your daily menu most of the time for your health’s sake (since they raise your blood pressure and cholesterol) and its silhouette.
