Best NLP books – In Portuguese

The most fundamental books to know NLP.

NLP, Neurolinguistic Programming, is a very interesting area that expanded a lot in the 1990s and early 2000s. We have a Free NLP Course on our website and, from time to time, we publish another technique.

Recently, we have received many requests to make a list of the best NLP books in Portuguese. And, in response to such requests, we will create a complete list that can be expanded in the comments. I’ll divide it by authors, to make it easier, ok? (the list is based on my knowledge, i.e. I recommend the books below because I know them).

So let’s go!

Best books on NLP – Neurolinguistic Programming

Richard Bandler and John Grinder

1. The Structure of Magic – A Book About Language and Therapy
2. Traversing – Passages in Psychotherapy (Trance-Formations)
3. Persuasion Engineering (Bandler and John LaValle)
4. Time for a Change – Bandler only.
5. Reframing – Neuro-Linguistic Programming and the Transformation of Meaning (Reframing)
6. Frogs into Princes
7. Get the Life You Want: The Secrets to Quick and Lasting Life Change with Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
8. Using Your Mind – The Things You Don’t Know You Don’t Know (Using Your Brain-For a Change)

I start by quoting the authors Bandler and Grinder because they were the creators of NLP and, therefore, they are obviously a reference to start with. All these above are very interesting and help us to have an excellent introduction in NLP.

Robert B Dilts

1. The strategy of genius. Volume 1 (Aristotle, Sherlock Holmes, Walt Disney and Mozart)
2. The strategy of genius. Volume 2 (Albert Einstein)
3. The strategy of genius. Volume 3 (Freud, Leonardo Da Vinci, Nikola Tesla)
4. Facing the Audience – Neurolinguistic Programming Resources for Presentations

In my opinion, Dilts has one of the most innovative works within NLP. His book series on genius is fascinating (we use some of the techniques in our 100 Study Techniques Course).

Michael Hall

1. Free Yourself: Strategies for Self-Actualization (Unleashead: a guide to your ultimate self-actualization)
2. Group and Team Coaching – Meta-Coaching (Group and Team Coaching)

It is a pity that the most complete book – with practically all NLP techniques – has not yet been translated. It was written by Michael Hall and is titled: The Sourcebook of Magic.

Milton Erikson

1. The February Man
2. Milton Erickson’s Didactic Seminars
3. Experiencing Erickson
4. Medical and Dental Hypnosis – Practical Applications
5. The February Man

Despite not being exactly an author of NLP but of hypnosis (Erikson’s hypnosis is the most recommended and recognized), we decided to list here because Bandler and Grinder modeled Erikson’s techniques to create NLP.

Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H Ericksonby Bandler and Grinder is another worthwhile book (English only).

Lair Ribeiro

For those who don’t know, Lair Ribeiro is Brazilian and a bestselling author. His books are also amazing and most of them have NLP techniques and tools. I recommend:

Conclusion

As I have said in other texts here on the site, English is an important differential in the job market. And it’s not just a meaningless demand on the part of companies. Literally half the world speaks English (over 3,000,000,000 people) and therefore it is much easier to find articles, books and texts.

And, as NLP emerged in the US, the authors obviously write in English. Therefore, if you master English that is only for reading, it will be much easier. The acronym NLP in English is NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming). The Sourcebook of Magic alone is worthwhile for being both complete and succinct with most of the techniques.
