An ending is just another beginning

I have always liked open endings in film, television and literature. Those endings that provide a stimulus to imagine how the story will continue, that allow us to understand that the story has not completely ended. Simply one more chapter has been written, closing one stage in order to begin another. Endings to understand that an ending is just another beginning.

Our life is full of cycles, which begin and end. So that We will experience numerous beginnings and endings. Some we will experience firsthand, they will be stages of our own life; Others, however, we will experience through other people’s stories, whether these stories are real or not.

In first person we will experience: our loves and dislikes, our passes and failures in science or mathematics, the falls when learning to walk or ride a bicycle, the friends we will make along the way and some we will lose… We will learn from other people around us through the story of their own experiences. and finally we will have the opportunity to learn from characters in film, television or literature.

“We have to have many endings, to have many beginnings.”

-Laura Girl-

He end of a book

Once again, I close its covers and go from the end to the beginning, from the back cover to the front cover. To rediscover the title, to look carefully at the illustration that accompanies it, to hold that book in my arms and be silent for a few minutes… while my mind travels again through its words, through its pages, through its story. But I have to come back to reality, whether I like it or not; already Its end has arrived, that ending that always tastes bittersweet when you have become hooked on a story and its passage has silently become intertwined with yours.

It doesn’t matter whether those stories are told in movies, books or television series. Long or short stories, which can last hours, days, months or even years. Be that as it may, all of them come to their end, to their feared, and at the same time expected, end.

Sometimes an open ending, that gives wings to your imagination to continue with the story when there are no more scenes or words written in formal letters. Other times, just a sudden ending due to the writers’ strike in television series or a writer who wanted to write more than one book, but was never satisfied. Or even one of those endings that doesn’t taste like an ending, because after a fantastic story, the person who pulled the strings knew how to end it.

“Not all endings are happy. But all endings are new beginnings with new opportunities to be happy.”

-Albert Urena-

Sad or happy endings, endings that cannot even be defined, but endings nonetheless. Endings that mark nothing more than new beginnings. The time has come to wake up, to say goodbye to that story that will remain in my memory and in my heart, and embark on new adventures.
When a book closes, when a movie ends, When a series has no more seasons, it’s time to learn new stories and let other characters teach us how to dream and live. Like any ending, an ending is just another beginning, an opportunity to open up to the new, to the unknown.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but it is necessary.

An ending is just another beginning

Facing the end of a story that we are passionate about is never easy. It’s not even easy when we talk about fiction stories, where the characters have touched our hearts. Therefore, it is more difficult when we must accept that life is cyclical, and that each stage has its moment. That When something comes to an end, we have no choice but to accept the point that has no continuation and open ourselves to new opportunities..

Everything begins and ends, even life. Every living being is born and dies. And during his life he faces numerous stages of growth and evolution. As human beings, from the moment we are conceived and our mother becomes pregnant, we begin to grow.

In order to be born, about nine months later, the pregnancy will come to an end. We will open our eyes to the world as babies and we will continue to grow and evolve to become children, from children to adolescents, finally adults and finally old age will find us. Each beginning of a new stage is linked to the end of the previous one. An ending is just another beginning. Nothing more… and at the same time, all that.

“Every time something goes, it makes room for what comes next.”

-Jorge Bucay-
