The difference between the first neatly ordered square and the last messy piece of yarn is 2 years. That’s about as long as Alzheimer’s disease had to completely destroy this woman’s mind.

The post instantly gathered a lot of comments: Users came out in support of the woman’s family and shared their stories about how this terrible disease has affected their own families.

Before she left this world, Romy’s mother told her, “Every time you see a butterfly, you’ll know it’s me, flying to see it.” This was a few years ago when Romy’s mother was diagnosed with cancer. After that, the girl decided to try to make sure that there were as many butterflies as possible.

When she found caterpillars in her garden, she took them into a special aquarium so they could grow into butterflies. Romy was no doubt glad to let them go. But once, she noticed that one of her butterflies had arrived in this world with a damaged wing.

At first, she wanted to keep it so it wouldn’t die outside. But later, a friend sent her an instruction on how to fix a butterfly wing, says Romy.
