9 Evidence that fabric and cut are fattening more than color

Often people prefer not to wear certain pieces of clothing in certain colors because they think they can make the look fuller. In general, they always end up wearing black, believing that this color is infallible and always slimming.

O awesome.club did a little research on this subject and realized that the big problem is not always the color, but the fabric, the cut and the combination of colors. Regardless of your height, you don’t have to stop using a color for fear of gaining weight. The big question is how to use it.

Colors and the break of verticality

Wearing just one color is a way to elongate your body and look slimmer. On the other hand, dividing the body into two different colored blocks has the opposite effect. The shorter the height, the bulkier and more contrasting the room. But that doesn’t mean you should just wear monochromatic clothes. The important thing is to know where to place the details in other colors.

In the photo on the right we see Jennifer Lopez thinner because of the vertical line caused by the only green color. The abs outside was a way to divert attention from the glutes. In the photo on the left, the singer’s body appears to be divided into two parts. However, the strategy was to give more prominence to green than blue, drawing more attention to the top and leaving the hips more discreet.

You can gain a few extra pounds or divide your body into two parts with a belt in another color. The photos show J. Lo in similar dresses, but in the image on the left she looks more corpulent than the one on the right. A belt of the same color could be an alternative so that this effect is not so evident.

neon colors

A lot of people don’t wear shiny clothes because they think they put on weight. Frankly, only neon and very bright tones are fattening, like Blake Lively in the photo on the left. These colors create a luminous field around and therefore create the sensation of extra volume.

In the photo on the right, Blake also wears a very bright color, but not bright, so the situation is completely different. In addition, the intense yellow is only perceived vertically, which makes the body slimmer and elongated.

Shiny fabrics are fattening, regardless of color

Any shiny fabric reflects light and adds visual volume. In these cases, color is not the most important thing; the problem is in the brightness. In the photo on the left Kate Winslet looks more corpulent; the glow fattens the body a little. In the photo on the right, the actress wears a similar dress, but the effect is different. In addition to another cut, the fabric does not have the same shine and, therefore, is not fattening.

If you really want to wear a sparkly dress but don’t have a lot of height, choose a model with a simple cut and a moderate shine. It’s clear that Selena Gomez, in the photo on the right, looks taller and slimmer. The dress in the picture on the left is also pretty, but it would look better if she were a little taller.

The cut is more fattening than the color

In the photo on the left Blake Lively looks more robust than the one on the right, and the color is not the problem. The cross jacket and large patch pockets enhance her upper body. Also, the folded pants made her legs look smaller. In the photo on the right she wears a more fitted suit with elegant pockets, so she looks much slimmer.

Black doesn’t always slim

In the images we see Jennifer López with two black dresses and the difference is huge. The dress on the left brings out all the aspects she usually tries to hide. The big problem is in the hip, which has become huge. In addition, the cuts did not enhance her silhouette. The dress on the right, much more restrained, but also with cuts, left her with a slimmer and more elegant body.

Light and white tones are not always fattening

In this case, it all depends on the fabric and cut, as well as the proportion of color in the set. Eva Mendes is wearing white in both images, but the one on the right looks much slimmer and more elegant and it’s all up to the fabric and cut.

J.Lo (always her) looks equally thin in both blue and black. All thanks to the vertical line given by the unique tone and the cross jacket, which visually enhances the silhouette.

Here we see another example that color is not the big issue; the issue is the cut (and the style, of course). J. Lo is wearing dresses of the same color, but the difference between them is huge.

The Red

In the photo on the left we see Jennifer Lawrence with a vest that looks like a dress. The loose cut and the pockets make the image less elegant than the image on the right, in which she appears in a dress of the same color and much more slender. Once again, the determining issue is verticality.

Bright color in the center of the set and neutral on the sides

If you keep the proportions right, you can always wear intense colors, regardless of your body type. The safest option is to use a strong tone in the center of the ensemble, like Jennifer Lawrence in the photo on the right, and leave the neutral colors to the sides. The result is a vertical line that is very slimming.

In the photo on the left, the actress wears a dark and beautiful outfit, but the contrasts in the image on the right made the actress much more slender.

Kate Winslet appears in the images with very similar dresses that match her body very well, but the dark lines on the side in the image on the right made her more beautiful and elegant.

Neutral colors in the center of the set and bright on the sides

The reverse technique is also a way to make the body slimmer. When the strong color appears on the sides vertically and the neutral tone appears in the middle, the body is visually more elongated.

The images make that clear. Eva Mendes shows that the greater the contrast, the more noticeable the weight loss. In the photo on the left, all the pieces have similar tones; in the image on the right, the jacket in another color gives the style more verticality.
