9 Celebrities Who Changed Their Gender And Became Even More Popular

She is now a face of the LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transvestite, transgender, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual) rights movement.

Laura Jane Grace, born Thomas James Gabel, is a singer and guitarist for the American punk rock band Against Me! In 2012, in an interview with rolling stone, Laura announced her plans to live openly as a trans woman. After a long period of changes and transformations, in 2014 the band released their sixth album: Transgender Dysphoria Blues.

Laura revealed that she would be happy to be part of the latest generation of “explainers” and giving interviews is part of that. Grace also released the autobiography: Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous and Best-selling Anarchist, in 2016.

4. Jazz Jennings

Jazz Jennings is a YouTuber, spokesperson and the youngest LGBT rights activist. When she was 9 years old, she recorded a video message raising the issue of misunderstandings and disapproval of trans people, who are pulled out of girls’ bathrooms in schools.

Jennings and her parents founded the TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation to help and support trans teenagers. In 2016 she published a book called Being Jazz: My Life As a (Transgender) Teen in free translation🇧🇷 and premiered her own TV show I Am Jazz, which aired on TLC. Today, she is one of the most recognized transgender models not only in the country but also in the world.

On his channel, Aydian shares fitness and sports tips for transgender people, as well as details about his life. He is currently a huge influencer and role model for the trans community.

6. Alexandra Billings

Alexandra Billings is a successful American stage and film actress, award-winning singer, respected drama teacher and activist in the fight against AIDS and for LGBT rights. Billings is also one of the few actresses to have played a transgender character on television, appearing in Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder and Transparent

In 2016, Alexandra received the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award as an Outstanding Member of the LGBTQ Community. Through years of activism, Alexandra teaches tolerance and points out that people in general do not belong to any category; they all belong to one race—the human race.

The Brazilian Leandra Medeiros Cerezo, now known as Lea T, is a transgender model, star of the most talked about advertising campaign in givenchy, pop culture icon, and transgender advocate. She is the daughter of well-known football player Toninho Cerezo.

She is also the first openly transgender person to appear at an opening ceremony of the Olympic Games — on a bicycle, the Brazilian delegation presented, during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016.
