9 Beauty Rules Royal Ladies Can’t Break

Ladies in the British royal family (and other royal families, such as Sweden’s) need to learn to deal with exposure. On special occasions, like Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle, which is about to happen, they need to be even more attentive. The hair, makeup and clothing of royal ladies must always be impeccable.

Check below 9 beauty rules that these ladies have to respect every day.

1. No luminous lip pencil

You will never see a woman from the royal family with glossy or colorful lips. They should not wear reddish or bold tones. Any color other than pink or a light shade is inappropriate.

2. No contour or highlighter

Kim Kardashian is the princess of Instagram and a big fan of contouring her face. But the future queen of Sweden cannot use the same technique at all. Royal ladies always need to opt for natural makeup and just refresh their face with some powder.

3. No heavy eye makeup

Women from royal families never wear a glamorous make-up style, false eyelashes, heavy eyeliner or heavy eyeshadow. Too marked makeup is considered bad taste.

4. Makeup should last a long time

Queens and princesses, as well as other noblewomen, have to participate in different outdoor events. Sometimes they take many hours, and the makeup needs to last all the time, whatever the weather. The key to keeping your makeup on longer is to use a good quality powder and set it with a special spray.

5. No retouching in public

6. No Glossy Nail Polish

Royal ladies prefer to keep their nails short and cover them with semi-transparent nail polish. Queen Elizabeth II likes the ‘Ballet Slippers’ tone. The rule is always to keep your nails nice and well done, but without exaggeration.

7. Hair must be styled appropriately.

Royal protocol calls for simple, neat hairstyles. The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, for example, has her own hairstyle, usually loose and wavy. Buns or the use of curly hair are prohibited.

8. Frequent visits to the hairdresser

Kate Middleton always does a treatment to make her hair smooth, soft, shiny and natural. She does this a few times a week, which helps her keep her hair looking great. In addition, she needs to always be aware of the appearance of gray hairs and cuts her hair frequently.

9. Hats for formal events

Under royal family code, hats are required at formal events such as weddings or Christmas-related events. Crowns can only be worn by queens or kings. Tiaras are indicated for formal and gala events, and also at weddings.

What did you think of these protocols? Can they be useful in our daily lives, simple mortals? Share your opinion in the comments.
