8 Personality traits that harm your life together

Not everyone is lucky enough to get involved with a person with a good personality. Unfortunately, there are some character traits that certain individuals possess that end up creating obstacles and difficult conditions for the health of a loving relationship.

Knowing this, the awesome.club features a list of personal quirks that don’t make anyone happy: neither your partner nor yourself.

1. Habit of deciding for both

Sometimes it’s nice to have someone willing to solve all our problems. We don’t have to worry about anything or “waste” time thinking about it. But when two members of a couple make decisions for both of them without even listening to the other’s opinion, it’s an important warning sign. After all, it is difficult to immediately determine where the line is between sincere concern and the desire to dominate.

2. Willingness to control everything

It’s great to have a plan and see everything running like clockwork. And maybe it’s even safe to live with a person who has everything under control. But when the urge to control everything gets too strong, turning into a real inconvenience, maybe it’s a reason to rethink the relationship.

3. Habit of justifying yourself

Healthy relationships are based on mutual respect. It’s an axiom. If the person feels comfortable next to the partner or partner, both will be on the same wavelength. And if one of the people asks that, for example, the other take out the garbage, the person who received the request will comply with the request without complaint, as long as he is interested in keeping the peaceful course of things. But when there are problems in the relationship, many of the requests end up being ignored, and there is no shortage of excuses to justify this.

4. Dependency

We must not build relationships in which one of those involved depends on the other. In financial terms, for example. In the beginning, when both are overcome with emotion, these themes are not usually paid attention to. But when the rapturous passion cools, those who are economically dependent can be left behind. Therefore, the best thing is to get married when the two people involved already have mature personalities and are balanced in the most different spheres, such as background and common interests. When there is an imbalance in any of these parameters, it is possible that the relationship will not go far.

5. Habit of bossing and criticizing

Many of us got used to receiving criticism from childhood: at home, at school, at university, and then at work. Therefore, what people least want is to be criticized by their partner, with whom they just want to relax after work and rest. When the relationship allows for frequent criticism, talk and explain what you really want from the relationship.

6. Grudge

This personality trait is perhaps among the worst. It is easy and pleasant to live with a person who quickly forgets about quarrels and is the first to offer a truce. But if, on the other hand, the person next to you cannot let go of an old resentment about something that happened months or even years ago, or if he makes a point of pointing out his mistakes on a daily basis, you need to have a serious talk about it.

7. Habit of confirming what you say behind your back

Lasting relationships are based on mutual trust. And if such a basis does not exist, the relationship will be short-lived. We must not make scandals or create scenes of jealousy for no reason. If in doubt, simply talk to the person. Perhaps you are worrying about nothing and poisoning the relationship itself.

8. Impatience

We can’t always have everything and when we want it. This is a common problem among young couples, who don’t want to wait too long to see their plans come true.

Only time brings understanding that the desire to speed things up can destroy the relationship. Patience is, on the other hand, the best remedy for most problems.
