Some people say it takes 21 days for an attitude to become a habit. But according to recent studies, it takes at least 66 days for a new form of behavior to become automatic.
In this post, we present a list of some habits that seem disgusting, but are actually good. Check it out right now.
8. Urinating in the bath
Researchers found that nearly 75% of people have peed in the shower at least once in their lifetime.
Indeed, there is reason to be ashamed of it. At the very least, urinating while showering saves flushing water and toilet paper.
7. Spit
Spitting is considered super ugly by a lot of people, especially in front of others and in public places. However, when we exercise, we tend to breathe through our mouth, and this causes the body to produce more saliva, which interferes with our breathing pattern. Therefore, it is perfectly normal to eliminate saliva after running a lot.
6. Chewing gum
Okay, chewing gum isn’t necessarily gross, but it doesn’t provide any nutritional benefits either. Even so, it has been scientifically proven that those who chew gum study better and make better decisions than those who don’t, and even those who drink coffee. Gum helps a person stay focused, makes memory faster, reduces stress and balances hormones by raising the level of cortisol.
5. fart
Without even realizing it, the body releases gases 14 times a day and 3-5 times during sleep. In general, the digestive system starts producing carbon dioxide and methane about 6 hours after eating and these gases are eliminated in the form of farts. If you hold in gas, you could end up with pain and bloating in your belly. Fart and be happy 🙂
4. Burp
A good burp after eating a lot is very good for the stomach, as it helps relieve excess air. Holding in a burp and leaving it inside your body can cause an increase in stomach acid in your esophagus, which can lead to chest pain.
But if you’re belching too much, see a doctor. You may have reflux.
3. Biting nails
By biting your nails, you end up eating some bacteria that are above and below them. This prompts your immune system to start producing white blood cells that help fight them off. When faced with the same type of bacteria for the second time, the body already has the necessary lymphocytes to eliminate it.
Also, some studies show that children who suck their fingers or bite their nails are less likely to suffer from allergies.
2. Put your finger in your nose and eat the ‘snot’
Yes, it’s very disgusting! But according to some studies, this horrible habit can even help your immune system, as mucus contains many mucins that can fight bacteria. By eating the ‘caquinha’, the immune system releases white blood cells and defends the body from bacteria.
1. Not showering every day
By showering every day, you wash away some essential oils from your skin and hair that are needed to keep them hydrated and protected. Even hot water without soap can destroy many helpful bacteria for skin to remain radiant and supple. So it’s perfectly natural – and even healthy – to skip a shower once or twice a week.
