7 Signs That The Product You’re About To Buy Is Fake

Trade in counterfeit products in the world in 2016, based on customs seizure, was approximately 509 billion dollars (the equivalent of 2.7 trillion reais), according to researchers. In 2019 alone, Brazil lost 291.4 billion reais to the illegal market. Counterfeit goods have become so widespread and so well made that it sometimes becomes very difficult to tell whether the item you are about to purchase is authentic or not.

We, from awesome.club, we’ve put together some tips to help you protect yourself against buying counterfeits, and we’re going to share them in this post. Check out!

1. No contact information

A feature often missing from counterfeit products is information about the company that produced them and contact details. If the company does not provide an address, email, website or phone number for the customer, you need to worry. The tip is to avoid purchasing goods of this type.

2. Missing accessories

Several large companies ask their consumers to be very aware of all the complementary items that must accompany the main product purchased. For tech goods, make sure headphones, charger, and instructions are included in the package. For clothing and accessories, take a look at the warranty and identification.

3. The quality of the screen

4. The wrong positioning of brands and logos

Before buying any very famous product, look at the pictures first and pay attention to the logos and brands. Typically, companies place their logos in specific locations, using unique fonts and sizes. Counterfeits are generally not as accurate and you will be able to easily determine if the product is genuine or not.

5. Inaccurate modeling

When shopping for clothes and bags, pay close attention to stitching. In authentic products, it will be well made, beautiful and orderly, which means that the patterns will be aligned. However, on counterfeit goods, the stitching is often sloppy and the patterns look uneven and crooked.

6. An imprecise box

When buying AirPods, you can identify whether they are original or not even before opening them. Take this case: on a counterfeit product, the back button will be much higher than on the original. In addition, the authentic box will have the original caption, which is found on all Apple products.

7. Cheap packaging

Companies pay a lot of attention to the packaging of their products, so authentic merchandise will be of good quality. If the box looks very plain, with faded colors, worn structure or a used appearance, it probably means the product is fake.
