How to apply the product?

TA: “after having done the chemical process and with wet hair, you will pass the neutralizer all over your hair, reinforcing the product in the strands with a comb. Leave it for the indicated time, then wash it with plenty of water, removing it all”.

What is the action time of the neutralizer?

TA: “the action time varies, but it is usually between 15 to 30 minutes, the ideal is not to spend more than what is recommended by the manufacturer”.

What is the function of the neutralizer after straightening?

TA: “it will balance the pH, neutralize the modified hair structure, prevent oxidation and close the cuticles”.

What type of neutralizer is best?

TA: “Hydrogen peroxide, sodium bromate and sodium perborate are used when there is action of chemical products, such as dyes and straighteners, balancing the pH and fixing the color or texture of the hair. Those who only have sodium bromate and sodium perborate, it is usually necessary to apply a moisturizing cream to finish the process effectively”.

What is the difference between acidifying and neutralizing?

TA: “the neutralizer balances the pH, prevents oxidation and closes the cuticles. The acidifier closes the hair cuticles, but does not prevent the oxidation process”.

Is there a homemade neutralizer that fulfills the same functions?

TA: “If you look on the internet you will find some recipes, but I do not recommend them because you need the help of a professional to find out which neutralizer is best for you”.

Tatiana clarified that “the hydrogen peroxide neutralizer does the whole process. There are also neutralizers for more universal use, but the ideal thing is to check with your hairdresser which one is the most suitable for your hair type”.
