6 ways to get rid of back pain that can relieve you after sitting all day

About 80% of adults experience back pain at some point in their lives. The statistics are alarming! It’s the most common cause of time off work, and medication can be helpful, but it’s always good to know some alternative ways to get relief without side effects.

At the incredible.club we’re always trying to make you feel better, so we wanted to share some ways that can help you prevent back pain.

1. Cat stretch with a chair

The cat stretch can help stretch your back and relieve tension in your muscles, but you can improve this technique by using a chair. You’ll find it especially enjoyable after a hard day at work, when you don’t have enough energy for yoga or other exercises.

Place a soft pillow between the chair and yourself, or use a footstool as well. Kneel down and place the log on the bench. Relax your whole body and let your spine rotate. The head must be down. Stay like this until you feel relief in your muscles.

2. Use special tape to relieve pain

This method is simple to perform, and the manufacturers say it’s very effective. This special tape relieves pressure and pain, provides support, and also increases circulation, which helps healing. When you place it on your body, it gently lifts the skin. This is believed to help create a small gap between this layer and the tissues below it. Relief is often felt immediately.

How it applies:

Clean and dry the affected part. Tear the wrapping paper down the center. After applying the first flap to secure the tape, allow the end to indent slightly. Then remove the protective paper. After applying the tape, rub it vigorously for several seconds. The heat will activate the glue. Full membership usually takes about 20 minutes.

Consult your physiotherapist or doctor to find out how to correctly apply this type of tape in your case.

3. Hot stones to heal and relax

You can get your own stones and relax your back at home. You can find them in the sea or buy them in a store. The only requirement is that they be round. By placing the hot stones on the acupressure points, you help to get rid of tension in your body and promote the healing process. It is always better to consult a doctor, who will also advise you where it is best to apply them.

How to prepare and use the stones:

Heat the stones 30 to 60 minutes before starting your massage. The water must not exceed 54 °C. Apply some massage oil on them. Do not place a hot stone directly on the skin without moving it along the back first, and do not lie down on hot stones! Lie down on your stomach. Place the stones on your back along your spine and relax. It takes 3 to 4 minutes for the heat to penetrate the skin.

4. Thermal adhesive compress (patch), a method that has withstood the test of time

The old becomes new. With all the technological advancements we have now, we tend to forget the old remedies that always helped. The patch produces heat, but you must be sure to apply it to healthy skin. It is used to relieve back pain, swelling and muscle stiffness.

New research says it is effective and that after 3 weeks of treatment it was shown to reduce pain by 25% more in people who used it compared to another group who used a placebo.

How to use:

Once you have your patch, use it exactly as directed. To apply it, peel off the paper and place the patch on the skin in the painful area. Press firmly. Leave the patch until dry. Take it off and apply a new one 1 or 2 times a day if needed. Wash your hands with soap and water immediately after applying the patch.

5. Use acupressure points

Acupressure points are very helpful in treating back pain, and using this technique has no side effects like medications. Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy, which is becoming more and more popular as it is a well-researched and effective method of managing pain. It works by stimulating the nervous system and releasing chemicals that relieve discomfort.

Some acupuncture points for back pain are found on the back of the knees, lower back, feet, hips and stomach.

How to press the points:

Press the points with your thumb and hold the pressure for a few minutes. Release slowly.

6. Chiropractic technique for low back pain

Spinal manipulation through chiropractic care is effective for back pain. Basically, the problem is analyzed using touch and then fixed manually. It is estimated that chiropractors treat over 35 million people annually in the United States alone!

But before carrying out any procedure, consult your doctor to avoid damage to the spine.

It is best to find a professional in the field who can advise you on what is best for you. It’s always good to find a chiropractic specialist in case you need urgent attention for your back.
