6 Simple ways to reduce bunions without surgery

About half of the world’s adult population suffers or has suffered from bunions, especially women. This problem can be hereditary or arise from the use of inappropriate footwear. Bunions not only cause pain and discomfort, but also harm the person’s quality of life. And while they can’t always be avoided, at least it’s possible to learn to correct them.

we, from awesome.clubwe want you to know some ways to solve the problem without leaving home.

1. Take off your shoes and go barefoot

Try to walk barefoot whenever you can. This will help strengthen the muscles in your foot and reposition the problem bone in its proper place. Not to mention that it is a great opportunity to rest from the use of uncomfortable shoes.

If walking barefoot causes pain, walk on a thick, thick rug. Otherwise, walking can make the situation worse.

2. Red pepper helps fight inflammation

Red peppers have an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, they warm the bunion area, which improves blood flow. To use this product as a treatment, you need to chop it and choose the most suitable way for you:

Squeeze the pepper juice and apply it on the bunion. Then, put some Vaseline on the area and wrap it with a cloth. Let it act for 15 minutes. Mix the peppers with olive oil in a 1 to 2 ratio. Then apply the paste to the bunion. Gently massage the area for 15 minutes.

If you feel a very strong burning, start with a small amount of pepper and gradually increase, following the recommended proportions.

3. Strengthen your foot muscles

Exercises not only improve your mobility, but also relieve the pain caused by bunions. You just have to be careful when performing them to avoid possible injuries.

Stand tall and press your toes into the floor for 10 seconds without lifting your heel. Then lift your heel and hold the pose for another 10 seconds. Repeat the exercise up to 5 times. Wrap your fingers in a towel and pull it towards your body. Then relax your feet. Repeat 5 to 10 times.

4. Ice to relieve pain

Ice can help reduce bunion inflammation and pain. You will only need some ice cubes and a cloth.

Wrap the ice in the cloth and place it over the bunion. Don’t press too hard, and keep the ice in place for 10 to 20 minutes. You can use this method as a treatment 1 or 2 times a day.

5. Castor oil makes bunions smaller

Castor oil has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Plus, it helps reduce inflammation and pain, which makes it a great bunion treatment.

Heat 50 to 100 ml of castor oil in a skillet. Dip a piece of fabric in the warm oil and place it over the bunion. Wrap your foot in a bandage or dry towel to keep it warm. Let it act for 20 minutes and repeat the treatment 1 or 2 times a day.

6. Bunion correctors keep the toes in the natural position

Corrective orthotics are ideal for treating bunions. First of all, they help to alleviate the discomfort caused by shoes, as they avoid rubbing the skin and change the position of the foot. Second, they fix the “big toe” in a natural position, allowing the bone to return to the right place. Nowadays, there are several models of brokers available in the market, so you can choose the one that best suits you. See more information about bunion treatment here.
