5 foods with more fiber than an apple –

Fiber can help you in many ways to achieve a leaner body, you know? They make the body as a whole work better and, consequently, stop storing fat in the belly, hips, thighs… Several studies associate the consumption of these substances with the reduction of risks of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular, diabetes and some types of cancer.

What are fiber-rich foods? The Argentine apple (2 grams of fiber) is the best known. But this is not the only option. Nutritionist Flávia Sgavioli, from São Paulo, reveals other foods that add a good dose of fiber to your diet:

1. Chickpeas
In 100 grams (½ cup of tea), it offers 12.4 grams of fiber. The grain still provides protein and other substances such as important minerals (magnesium, copper, iron and manganese) and vitamins B1 and B6 and folic acid. Great option, no?

2. Avocado
One more reason for you to eat the mighty fruit: 100 grams (half of a medium avocado) contains 6.3 grams of fiber. He is still rich in antioxidant substances and good fat – nutrient that helps reduce appetite.

3. Peanut
Every 100 grams (½ cup of tea) guarantees 8 grams of fiber. What’s more, it offers a good dose of protein, minerals, vitamins and phytochemicals such as resveratrol (the same substance in red wine with the power to protect the heart and keep the skin youthful for longer).

4. Pear
If you love the fruit, you can celebrate. One Williams pear contains 3 grams of fiber. It is also rich in vitamins C, A and B complex.

5. White beans
Once you discover the properties of this legume, you’ll want to vary your everyday beans more often. After all, ½ cup of tea (100 g) contains 8.5 grams of fiber.
