Sphynx do not have webbing between their toes. Sphynx have a faster metabolism than other cats; therefore, in general, they eat more than other kittens. Its body is about 4 °C warmer than other cats. Although they look totally hairless, the reality is that they have a very fine coat of hair that can be felt when touched. They are not completely ‘anti-allergenic’. If you or your children are allergic to cat dander, the sphynx might be a good choice. Now, if the allergy is the protein known as Fel d 1, present in the saliva of cats, it is better to think of another type of pet. Sphynx have some difficulty regulating their own body temperature, which means they can feel cold or hot easily. The absence of hair makes them sensitive to the sun. If you have a sphynx that likes to be in sunlight, it’s best to put some sunscreen on it.
