21 Incredible readers who had the flexibility to deal with clueless people

Some experiences can be wonderful examples where we realize we are useful to someone, others not so much. Stories of loose and sassy people can generate laughter or a certain stomach burning – especially when we remember that one day someone with that personality crossed our path.

That’s why the awesome.club made a selection of stories from the experiences of Incrível readers who showed the best of their generous hearts, but received attitudes they did not expect. Follow!

A neighbor was pregnant and didn’t have a car. She called us early in the morning, at 3 am, asking for help to take her to the doctor, as she said she was feeling sick. My father took her to the hospital and waited for hours. He went to work dead tired. Later we found out that she wasn’t feeling sick. She made it up to get her ex’s attention! © Pollyanna Fernandes Moreira Dantas / Facebook
An acquaintance finished college and said she would start a bazaar to pay for an important course with her own clothes. I told the story to several friends who were moved and helped her. Two weeks later, however, this colleague showed up posting pictures of her holiday in Spain! She didn’t speak to me again until the day she sent me a message saying she was releasing a book. I figured she would be invited, but she said she needed to pay for the production of the book and wanted my help sponsoring it. I didn’t even respond and deleted her from my social media. © Julia Aquino / Facebook
My husband lent 350 reais to a friend. Three months later, the friend wouldn’t even bring up the subject of paying off the debt. After that, my husband was fired from the company he worked for and on Valentine’s Day we agreed not to buy gifts to save money. That friend calls saying he’s coming to buy some sunglasses from my store for his wife. A few days later, the wife calls me saying that she wants another model, which she also liked. Total of the two pieces, almost 290 reais. And no paying what they owed. I couldn’t resist, I charged, they paid and they never spoke to us again. © Maria Adriano Campos / Facebook
I’m an English teacher and I post free content on social media to help those who are learning. What is surprising is receiving inbox messages from people I don’t know saying they are going to send essays, texts and resumes for me to correct. Or they make a video call at dawn to practice or ask questions. Always as a favor, without payment. I get upset when I notice this expectation, that a teacher should be available all the time and work for free. I’ve never met an engineer who would build a house for free, or a doctor available 24 hours a day, a restaurant chef to serve me whenever I’m hungry. Why don’t people value the time of those who work with teaching? © Adriana Beretta Longo / Facebook
When I was pregnant I received several gifts for my daughter. An acquaintance said she was going through difficulties and had a baby. As I won a lot, I was moved and donated items to her. A week later she was on a bazaar page selling most of the things I gave her. © Lais Klein / Facebook
A new neighbor in the condominium asked to borrow the cell phone to make a call, I had never seen her in my life. I let her use it, this was around 1pm. Afterwards, she asked for water and bread and, as she didn’t have a key, she even asked if she could stay until her brother arrived. After eating 15 loaves of bread, she even asked to turn on the TV to watch the soap opera. I said I needed to go out to see if she touched herself and left, but she didn’t leave until it was 11 pm at night. After that, when he saw me on the street, he still pretended that he had never seen me, or even looked at my face. © Priscilla / Facebook
A neighbor asked my father to borrow a wheelbarrow for a construction project. My father lent it, but said he would need it later. So the mason handed over the cart. The next day, the neighbor knocked on the house. I didn’t answer, but I heard him say that we were delaying the work, because we woke up late and he needed the cart. I told him he should buy one, as it was baggy and that he would only have the stroller if my dad borrowed it when he arrived for lunch. © Raquel Luiza Silva / Facebook
A work colleague told me that he was going to lose his apartment because he was in arrears with many installments. I was saving money to build a house, but I borrowed everything I had. After that, he threw his daughter a birthday party at the apartment and invited everyone from the service except me. I felt very used and worthless. © Rosimary Vasconcelos / Facebook
A friend wanted to give a gift to someone, but she had no money. She asked me to borrow the card. I said I was going along to enter the password. She wanted to buy the entire store minus the present. She bought it, paid for it, disappeared and never spoke to me again, not even on my birthday. Months later, she reappeared asking to borrow the card to buy a bicycle for her goddaughter. I understood that the friendship she wanted was with the card and not with me. I explained that I didn’t have a credit card anymore and she told me to talk to my husband and get his. Days later, she showed up on a new bicycle, which she had bought with a colleague’s card, which she still struggles to receive. © Gisele Rolim / Facebook
A friend asked me R$ 300 to pay the CNH, because they weren’t letting her take the test without that amount. I borrowed. I got to her sister’s house and she had new glasses on and she even asked me what I was doing there. She paid in installments and stopped talking to me. © Tati Melo / Facebook
Once the person I considered a friend got divorced and, as I couldn’t afford to rent anything at that time, I welcomed her into my home. I got into a fight with my husband, who didn’t want to, but in the end he accepted. He was supposed to stay for a month, but he stayed for four and didn’t pay anything, not even what he consumed. When he moved in he wanted me to get him a TV and a fridge since I had two of each. My husband forbade me to give it. She never invited me to see the new house. She still left ranting, but about how much she saved in the four months, she didn’t say thank you. We give what’s best in us. © Fran Fran / Facebook
I helped a friend when she got out of an abusive relationship, I even got the car that the guy stole from her. Then she married someone else and I wasn’t invited to the wedding. © Ana Hardy / Facebook
I’m studying Pedagogy and I’m about to finish. A friend entered the same college on my recommendation. I recorded several videos for her to learn about the platform, explained everything in detail, sent prints, audios, videos, all that was left was for me to pay her the bill. In the first semester I ended up doing activities, questionnaires and even assessments. Now this semester, she is in the second and I am in the last. I’m struggling to do my cbt alone, the doll is waiting for me to do everything for her again! I never won a real, on the contrary, I only gained ingratitude. She stopped talking to me, I don’t serve anymore. © Pat Patricia / Facebook
I’m a psychologist and I do online service. This happens a lot, but this one was remarkable. Someone came to me one Sunday night, around 11 pm. I was very distressed, with an anxiety attack and asking for care at that time. It was a two hour call. She asked for one more session that week, we negotiated values and she said she would pay the next day. I attended to her as agreed. After that she blocked me on social media and I couldn’t find out how she was doing. All to not pay for the sessions. © Gisele Possatto / Facebook
I once found a giant bunch of keys on the street. I called the number that was on the key ring and the one who answered was a company secretary, saying “bring it here at the company as soon as possible, they need the keys and you found it to be responsible”. At the time, I replied to her: “Next lady, you have 20 minutes to come get these keys. Otherwise, it will turn to dust.” I gave the address and hung up. It didn’t take 10 minutes and a guy got there to pick it up. © Gerson Diego / Facebook
