20 Mysterious Objects From The Past That Internet Users Found An Explanation For

Who hasn’t been interested in searching the attic or closets of an old house, hoping to find some mysterious object? After all, it can be a special reminder of the past and some customs. People who found such objects, but did not quite understand their purpose, decided to resort to the help of Internet users and received interesting responses.

Answer: It is a gas heater (they were used in some countries in the 1930s-1950s). The faucet is a gas valve. The chimney opening is closed.

“I found this item vintage of metal and wood

Answer: It is a kind of sharpener for pool cues. The cue is placed on the underside and the file is inserted perpendicularly to sharpen the tip of the pool cue.

“Is it a hair clip? I found it in a pile of old jewelry I bought online.”

Answer: It’s a clothespin. It was usually attached to the collar of a dress, blouse, or coat, and did not pierce the fabric like a brooch.

“I saw this table set in a museum in Germany. What is the smaller item for?”
