20+ Marvel Heroes Actors Many Didn’t Know How Tall Or Even So Short

Looking through the giant movie screen or small TV screen, it is very difficult to get a sense of the size of our favorite actors. We even have a rough idea, but never an exact one. It gets even more difficult with Marvel characters, who appear on screen with heroic and imposing poses.

These actors playing heroes are often much smaller than we imagine. Or else they are bigger than anyone we know. The best way is to place them side by side to compare their heights between them. In addition to being informative, it is a fun and curious exercise.

And that’s exactly what we, from awesome.clubwe did by bringing together again most of the heroes and villains of Avengers: Endgame to make a comparison of the height of the actors who live them.

Agent Carter is well known as Captain America’s great love, and is played by Hayley Atwell, who is 1.69m. She became a heroine in Disney+’s What If?

Tilda Swinton is a walking metamorphosis and, for Marvel, lived the Ancient One. The London-based actress is almost the tallest woman in the cast, standing at 1.79m tall.

Brie Larson, who played Captain Marvel, is not one of the shortest women in the cast. She is 1.70m

As the leader of the Avengers, Captain America doesn’t disappoint with his height. Chris Evans isn’t the tallest of the cast, but he’s also far from the shortest at 1.83m.

Who likes to hear Doctor Strange say spells in his deep, melodious voice? His interpreter is the Londoner Benedict Cumberbatch, who is the same height as Chris Evans, 1.83 m

The alien Drax, a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, is played by Dave Bautista, of Greek and Filipino descent. A former wrestler, he is among the tallest in the squad, standing at 1.90 m tall.

Anthony Mackie played the Falcon, which perhaps went unnoticed by many, but is the new Captain America. He is 5 centimeters shorter than Chris Evans, that is, 1.78 m

Did you know that the actress who plays Scarlet Witch is the sister of the Olsen twins? That’s right, it’s Elizabeth Olsen, younger than the twins, and 1.68 m tall

Hawkeye was brought to life by Californian actor Jeremy Renner, who is 1.74 m tall

Robert Downey Jr., who played our beloved Iron Man, is the same height as Jeremy Renner, who is 1.74 m

Comedian Paul Rudd played Ant-Man, who could grow and shrink in size. But his height in real life is only one, 1.78 m

Our dear Tom Holland, Spider-Man, is young but he’s not short. He is 1.73 m tall

The Hulk can be a big guy, standing 2.1m tall digitally built. But Bruce Banner and Mark Ruffalo, the actor who plays him, are the same height as Tom Holland: 1.73 m

Tom Hiddleston played the charismatic villain we love to hate, the god of mischief, Loki. Almost as tall as his on-screen brother Thor, the actor is 1.87 m tall

Remember M’Baku? He is one of the leaders of Wakanda in Black Panther and also fought alongside the Avengers. He was played by actor Winston Duke, who is the tallest of the cast, standing at an impressive 1.96 m.

Don Cheadle played the military man who wore Iron Man-like armor, called the War Machine. Slightly shorter than Downey Jr., he is 1.72 m

The great creator of the Avengers Initiative was Nick Fury, the one-eyed man played by the great Samuel L. Jackson. The actor is among the tallest of the cast, standing at 1.88 m.

Cobie Smulders is one of the faces known for the series How I Met Your Mother, but at Marvel lives Nick Fury’s right-hand man, SHIELD agent Maria Hill. She is 1.73m tall

Nebula, another daughter of Thanos, was played by Scottish redhead Karen Gillan, the tallest woman on this list, at 1.80 m.

Black Panther was briefly played by the dear and irreplaceable Chadwick Boseman. He had the imposing height of a king: 1.83 m

Also known for her role on The Walking Dead, Danai Gurira played the Dora Milaje named Okoye. The actress is American and her parents came from Zimbabwe, and her height is 1.70 m.

Star-Lord, or Peter Quill, was played by charismatic action-comedy actor Chris Pratt, who is also quite tall, at 1.88 m.

Shang-Chi has yet to fight alongside the Avengers, but the martial arts hero is played by Chinese-Canadian Simu Liu, who is 1.80 m tall.

The Winter Soldier, Captain America’s best friend, was played by Sebastian Stan, who is born in Romania and is the same height as Chadwick: 1.83 m.

Chris Hemsworth is one of the tallest of the cast. He could too, as he plays a Norse god, Thor. The Australian is 1.91 m tall.

Valkyrie is Thor’s countryman but her interpreter doesn’t come from Australia like Chris. Tessa Thompson is an American from California and her height is 1.62 m

Remember the Wasp? In addition to decreasing in size, like Ant-Man, she can still fly! And it was played by Evangeline Lilly, who is 1.65m

Paul Bettany is the English actor who plays the android Vision, the great love of the Scarlet Witch. The actor is the same height as Chris Hemsworth, 1.91 m

Scarlett Johansson is a woman, full of attitude and girl power to live the Black Widow, but her height is the smallest of the entire cast: only 1.60 m

Some actors appear in Marvel movies covered in visual effects, not reflecting their actual heights. Therefore, we bring here a comparison between their heights and those of the characters they live in.

Rocket, the anthropomorphic raccoon and Groot’s companion, is only 0.95m tall, but he makes up for it with attitude, ferocity and lots of guns. His voice is borrowed from actor Bradley Cooper, who is almost twice his height: 1.85 m

Groot has had several sizes. He was huge in Guardians of the Galaxy and a baby in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. In his last appearance, in Avengers: Endgame, he was around 150m. Vin Diesel, the actor who lends his voice to Groot, is 1.82 m tall.

Finally, we have Thanos, the big purple villain of the saga, who was bigger than all the Avengers. The character was 2.5m tall, taller even than the Hulk. His interpreter, Josh Brolin, is “only” 1.79 m
