20 Comics to better understand how our heart and our brain are different

After going through the end of a romantic relationship, Anto Miranda resorted to drawings as a therapy (“drawing therapy”, as he calls it), through which he let his feelings flow. That’s how Jarty and Breny were born: a heart and a brain that represent the constant internal struggles that occur within each of us involving feeling and reason. With his creations, the artist shows that the way to success is the balance between the two forces that dominate us.

Antonio Miranda, the “designer” behind Jarty&Breny

Anto started drawing at age 8, and hasn’t stopped since. But he started performing the activity professionally at 20. Before Jarty and Breny came into his life, the artist’s drawings revolved mainly around his daily life. Hence, the name “La vida misma” (something like “Life itself”), which remains as a subtitle in his current comics. When asked which of his characters he most identifies with, Anto replied that he will always be Jarty’s heart.
