20+ Artists and athletes who have been very successful and where they are currently

While many famous people have been on TV for decades, others had important roles and then were forced to abandon their careers or chose to change their lives and disappear from the spotlight. Some of them are doing very well today and others not so much. But the important thing is not to give up and move on. After all, the bills arrive and have to be paid.

1. Cecilia Dassi

The beautiful blonde girl with blue eyes enchanted everyone in the role of Sandrinha in the soap opera “Por Amor” in 1997, but, after having difficulty getting new roles, she preferred to study Psychology at university and opened a practice a few years ago. She confessed, in an interview, that she felt insecure about her financial life in the long term and, therefore, looked for another occupation. He came to work in Poland and Spain but, after going through many problems, he says he is disillusioned with the profession, but wants to work in the area in the future. 3. Ana Paula Arosio

The famous actress and model who started at age 12 doing supermarket advertisements, at age 19, in 1994, was already an actress in the soap opera “Éramos Six”, on SBT. She participated in two other productions on the station. Ana Paula also did numerous works on Rede Globo such as the hits Hilda Furacão, Terra Nostra and Os Maias. In 2010, the actress, who was quoted for the soap opera “Insensato Coração”, ended up resigning from the broadcaster. She got married that same year to the architect Henrique Pinheiro and has lived in England since 2015. We really miss seeing Ana Paula on the small screens, but if she’s happy like that, we’re happy too.

Former dancer Ellen Cardoso gave up fame at the request of her husband and also famous, Naldo Beni. She began to dedicate herself exclusively to taking care of the house and her family. But soon after, she invested in a shoe and clothing brand and, in 2017, she opened her first store, Mangau Brasil.

Maybe the new generations don’t know who she is, but this actress was a resounding success in Globo soap operas in the 70s, 80s and 90s. dad. The actress, who has been married to fellow actor Cássio Gabus Mendes since 1991, graduated in Psychology and still works in the area, serving in São Paulo.

The little actress started in 1997 at “Clube da Criança”, on Rede Manchete. The actress began her career in the 90s with the Rede Globo soap opera “Sex Appeal” and continued on the network. His last role was in 2014, in the miniseries ‘Dupla Identidade’. She then started dedicating time to her YouTube channel, raising children (beautiful ones, by the way) and is a partner in a thrift store selling clothes from famous brands.

10. Duda Little

The little actress who acted as a reporter for Xou da Xuxa and in the film “Lua de Cristal” and, later, in a film by Trapalhões, ended up graduating in Journalism. Today, she works as editor-in-chief on Rede Globo’s morning show “Mais Você”. She is married and has a 2 year old daughter.

11. Mario Gomes

In an interview in 2017 with presenter Geraldo Luís, from Rede Record, the former actor and heartthrob of Rede Globo, confessed that he does not miss soap operas and that the instability of acting life made him look for other work options. He started his small business, first with a snack car and today he has a train-shaped trailer on Joatinga beach, in Rio de Janeiro. Gomes alternates between his own business and the HBO series ‘Magnífica 70’. We wish Mário Gomes much success.

12. Susana Werner

The actress and model who started on TV participating in the opening of Rede Globo’s telenovela “Cara e Coroa”, still did some work at the station between 1995 and 2007. She married in 2002 with former goalkeeper Júlio César and, since then, she lives abroad, accompanying her husband in the countries where he played.

13. Narjara Turetta

The talented and experienced actress started in the 70’s on TV Record. She was also on TVS (today SBT), in 1979 she appeared on Globo with Regina Duarte in “Malu Mulher” and did other successful works until 1990. Since then, Narjara had few invitations until, in 2001, she won a water cart of coco and started working on the Copacabana waterfront, in Rio. In 2006, Narjara dedicated herself to the work of dubbing and made soap operas on Globo and Record TV, for example, in the soap opera “Jesabel”.

14. Lisandra Souto

The actress was just 21 years old and at the height of a brilliant career, when she married volleyball player Tande and dropped fame and career to dedicate herself to her family. She had two children with the athlete and, after 14 years away from soap operas, returned to Rede Globo in the soap opera “Salve Jorge” in 2012. In 2014, she signed a contract with Record and returned to Globo the following year.

15. Claudio Heinrich

Away from the small screens since 2013, the former actor, former paquito and model who went through “Xou da Xuxa” and “Malhação” and became well known in Brazil for the indigenous character Tatuapú Guapurú, from the Globo soap opera “Uga Uga” by 2000, today he dedicates himself to teaching jiu-jitsu and self-defense in Rio de Janeiro. He offers his services on social media.

16. Tássia Camargo

The actress, director and producer was also the presenter who inaugurated the global program “Video Show”. After a family problem in 2016, Tássia moved to Lisbon and acts in the Portuguese soap opera “Valor da Vida” and invests in advertising.

Frota was successful in soap operas and miniseries on SBT, Manchete, HBO, Bandeirantes and Globo in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Multi-talented, he has also worked as a director, comedian, presenter, entrepreneur and model. He still did sporadic work until 2016 and then decided to enter politics.

20. Suzana Alves (Tiazinha)

The girl worked as an actress and dancer, but became known throughout the country as the character Tiazinha, from Programa H, on Band – from 1998 to 2000. In addition, she did other sporadic work on other stations. After a few years, she interrupted her career and decided to invest in other areas. Today Susana works with pilates, acts in plays and even makes some appearances on TV and cinema, but she has definitely left the character for which she became nationally known.

21. Joana Prado (Sorceress)

She was a model for famous brands such as 775, Sexy Machine, and M.Officer and, in 1998, became Feiticeira, on Programa H, hosted by Luciano Huck (the same program that launched Tiazinha, by the aforementioned Suzana Alves). The contract with the broadcaster ended in 2002 and she still made a few appearances on TV, until, in 2014, she opened a gym with her husband, MMA fighter Vítor Belfort. Today, Joana lives in Florida, with her husband and three children, and invests in ”The Phenom”, a company specialized in managing athletes’ careers.

22. Roberta Close

The former model and former actress who was successful in the 80s and 90s married a Nestlé employee, Swiss businessman Roland Granacher. She has lived in Switzerland for over 20 years. In Europe, Roberta leads a life of luxury, decided to dedicate herself to taking care of her family, became a high society lady and confesses that she no longer cares about fame or TV and only comes to Brazil to see her family.
