19 Biggest Brazilian TV Stars in Their Youth and Today

1. Fernanda Montenegro

Susana Vieira began as a dancer in the attractions of the extinct TV Tupi in São Paulo, in 1962. 8. Sonia Braga

Sônia Braga embodied the stereotype of Brazilian women on TV and in cinema, especially by playing characters created by the Bahian writer Jorge Amado, such as Gabriela and Dona Flor. The success of these interpretations led Sônia to conquer cinema and series in the United States, the country where she lives to this day. 10. Eva Wilma

Eva Wilma studied classical dance and entered the artistic life as a dancer. She even participated in the famous ballet on roller skates Holiday On Ice. Everything changed, however, when she was called to play a role in the cinema. In a short time, she starred in several films. From cinema to theater and television, the path was natural. Glória Menezes and her husband, Tarcísio Meira, form one of the most important institutions in Brazilian television. Suffice it to say that the couple acted in the first daily telenovela produced in the country, 2-5499 Busy, in 1963. From then on, they starred in numerous hits, both in duo and in the company of other pairs. For playing naive, romantic and tormented by the villains of the plot, Regina Duarte received the nickname Namoradinha do Brasil. Later, she fought against her own fame as a sweet girl, performing more daring roles, such as the unforgettable Viúva Porcina of the soap opera Roque Santeiro (1985), one of the many productions starring her that made Brazil stop.
