we, from awesome.club, we love to follow people’s destiny over time, so we were curious to know what direction these 17 exemplary students’ lives took. Follow up!

I have always been the “exemplary daughter”. I only got high grades and didn’t go out to any parties at night. I love crochet, knitting and books. My former classmates hated me, and I didn’t understand why. I finished school with honors, entered the faculty of economics, as my mother wanted. In the second year, however, I became pregnant with my boyfriend. Soon after, we were married, had my son, and we moved into a rented apartment, living on my husband’s modest security salary. He’s the same age as me and he hasn’t enjoyed his youth much either. In my third year of college, I started working as a store clerk to increase our family income a little. Within a few months, my husband quit and was unemployed for six months. Well, it seems to me that no one has considered me an example of anything for six years now. © Unknown author / Pikabu

At school, I had difficulty with Chemistry. In other subjects, I was an excellent student. The teacher always made fun of me in front of the other students, and after each class, I left in tears. And how it felt, after many years, to go back to school and tell this woman that I am now a PhD in Chemistry. © Podslushano / Ideer

The smartest girl in the class was good at literally everything, but she was very shy. She started dating an older guy, who just liked to party. Today, she raises two children on her own, works as a librarian and, as far as I know, hasn’t even graduated from university. © Iwantav / Reddit

I work in a grocery store. Through the window, I saw a car pull up—white, beautiful, brand new. A tall, well-dressed, well-groomed man with formal clothes emerged. My jaw nearly dropped when I realized he was my former classmate, the boy who only got bad grades, messed around, cheated on everyone, and was terrible at math. And I, who was a great student and let everyone copy me, was on the other side of the counter in a grocery store. © Podslushano / Ideer

I had problems with foreign languages since high school, I just couldn’t pass my exams. One of the smartest students loved to humiliate me for it, even though I got high marks in every other subject. Later, at university, I had a fantastic teacher, thanks to which I improved my English a lot and learned other languages. So, seven years later, I started working for a big international company as a recruiter, and that same excellent student from the school showed up to do an interview with me. As soon as she saw me, she was shocked. I reminded her that the interview would be in English and I still made her nervous when I switched to German and then French, after all, her resume said she spoke these languages fluently. In practice, even, she didn’t even know the basics, including English. © Podslushano / Ideer

There were three A-grade students in my class. After the final exams, they were called by the professor, who tore up their work and said that they had to redo everything as it was not “ideal”. One of them graduated in Medicine, now has a doctorate and works with reproductive medicine. The second has a PhD in Pharmacology. The third, on the other hand, changed universities a few times, didn’t finish any of them and today she seems to be doing nothing and nobody knows how she makes a living. © ParSulTang / Pikabu

Good grades in school are not always a guarantee of success. My former classmate only got average grades and was expelled from final exams for cheating. But that didn’t stop her from moving to Australia at age 20, where she learned English and was able to study. Later, she took her younger sister and parents to the country. She has already achieved a lot and lives happily there. I’m very proud of her. And I, an excellent student, still don’t know what I want out of life, I live in the same place and I’m afraid of change. © Podslushano / Ideer

My former classmate was the top student in school, graduated with honors and all. She moved to the capital to try to get into the best university on a scholarship, certain that she would be accepted easily. She couldn’t. She then spent a year at home and then entered a more affordable university and in the third year she had to take a break from studying because she got pregnant. She later resumed classes, graduated with average grades, started working as a manager in an office, and shortly thereafter went on maternity leave. © avgalery / Pikabu

A girl was punished by her mother if she got any grade less than 10. She admitted that she didn’t understand certain subjects very much, but she always felt pressured to get 10. The mother even wrote cheats for her daughter, as long as she helped her with exams. Eventually, she managed to graduate with honors, but then her parents had to take out a loan as she couldn’t pass college on a scholarship. And something tells me it wasn’t just for getting “low” grades that they punished her. Why complicate the child’s life at school?! I don’t understand. © FaeFaeFae / Pikabu
