16 Stories That Prove That Love Is In The Details

Love is a delicate matter. Building a relationship takes place step by step and we often make mistakes, but we learn from them. Over time, many things are lost in memory, but the most important memories remain with us forever.

At the awesome.club we are sure that actions show feelings much more than any words. And, as proof of this, we decided to share with you some stories of everyday situations, which turned into unforgettable experiences in the lives of lovers.

1.

Many people are familiar with the joke that there is an animal corresponding to the year in which you were born: a mouse, a monkey, a pig. The joke is someone looking for a dragon. I told my boyfriend that I was born in this creature’s year and therefore couldn’t find the right pet. I thought he would just smile, but he replied that he would find this animal and disappeared for 2 weeks. Then he came back with a five-foot dragon made of polymer clay, which he sculpted for me. Since then I’ve known two things: first, that he’s an incredible sculptor, and second, that he’s the person I’m willing to dedicate my whole life to.

I’ve always believed that a man shouldn’t chase a girl, shouldn’t allow a woman to control him, shouldn’t be manipulated, and should always be the leader, the boss, the strong one. I thought that… and then I fell in love. For the past year and a half I’ve been willing to do anything for my girlfriend: I can follow any request she makes, buy chocolate or ice cream in the middle of the night, massage her feet all the time, help cook, wash dishes, give huge bouquets of her favorite flowers, among other gifts, and even put up with her lack of punctuality without getting on my nerves.

3.

I have been dating a girl since high school, and during her studies she had a lot of problems with English (the only six on her diploma). We are now 20 years old, and in the last year, she has grown her hair long (she always wore it in the “Bob” style), lost 9 kg and learned not only this language, but also Polish, German and French. She said she just wanted to change something. I enrolled at the academy and started studying Swedish. She teaches me to live and breathe fully, she is my ideal and my encouragement.

4.

I really like all kinds of things made using the patchwork technique: a bedspread sewn from pieces of different materials, a skirt in the gypsy style, handmade toys, etc. Recently, I noticed that my boyfriend had small sores all over his fingers. Upon questioning him, he just waved his hand, saying it was silly, he hadn’t even noticed. Yesterday I came home from work and on my bed was a big heart made from hundreds of pieces of colorful fabric. A little twisted, a little bent, but as I imagine my beloved making this beauty for me, clumsily using the needle until it hurts his fingers, I understand that this is the most incredible gift of my entire life.

My boyfriend and I fight all the time. After arguments, he always approaches first. I don’t have a good temper and anger takes a long time to pass, however I try to work on myself to erase that pride in the name of love. We recently got into a fight again and I didn’t want to give in. I was afraid of jokes like: “Ah, well, look who came”, but I took a deep breath and went. I saw his eyes, surprised and happy. No jokes, no malice. He just said ‘thank you’ and hugged me. I realized how important it is to overcome pride and how much I love him.

6.

My girlfriend is a high-ranking flight attendant, and every time we approach our house in the car, I slow down, shift into the right lane, and she looks at me and says her slogan: “Ladies and gentlemen, our plane has started to descend , make sure your seat back, seat belts and curtains… are in the correct position…”, and at that moment I feel like a pilot of a Boeing about to land. Then, slowly and carefully, I leave the car in the parking lot, while she continues to babble something about passengers not getting up until the aircraft comes to a complete stop. I love her madly.

7.

Many of my friends talk about the nice things their boyfriends do for them: they give them big bouquets of roses, leave messages at the house, write poetry and even climb into their windows. My boyfriend doesn’t do any of that. He just fixes all the broken things in my house and helps me with university work. I’m studying to be a designer, so I have to draw and make models. Since I don’t have time, he glues them together for me, clumsily but diligently. He gives me his last penny so I can buy my mother a birthday present, and in those moments I am the happiest girl in the world. Nobody loved me so much before. My colleagues say that I need very little to be happy.

I am hospitalized and I share a room with a lady born in 1945. Her husband, every night, sends voice messages to her smartphone (!), but she listens to them in person, because she doesn’t know how else to do it. And he says to her every day: “Good night, my dear…” They have been married for 54 years.

10.

My husband is a pilot and he doesn’t have a fixed schedule, there are flights at any time of the day or night (usually at night…). I have the standard five-day workday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. I always get up to give him a kiss or go to the window to say hello. I remain in the hallway, sleepy, with a creative disaster on my mind, wrapped in a thick fluffy robe and carrying an equally scruffy cat… In short, a real freak show. But recently he told me that it’s in those moments when he realizes more than ever how much he loves me.

11.

Today, on the bus, I saw a beautiful scene. At one of the stops, an elderly couple got on. The lady sat down on an empty seat and the gentleman stood beside her. I got up to give her my seat, and when I offered her to sit down, the man smiled very sweetly and said, “Thank you, daughter, stay calm, I don’t go too far away from her, because I don’t want to lose my beloved.” And, smiling, he stroked the lady’s hair. I almost cried.

12.

It was my birthday. My boyfriend, as usual, at 23:50, went to the bus stop to apologize for not being able to congratulate me first, saying that he would send an SMS. At midnight a message arrives from him with the text: “FC”. Disappointed, I was writing a reply when I heard a knock on the door. I open it and he comes in with a bunch of balloons! He stands like that in the middle of the hallway, reading a poem, his voice shaky and nervous. It reminded me of a child reading a text for the first time at a school event. And it’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

My boyfriend is, as they say, a closet, he is 2.05 m tall and has an absolutely tough expression on his face. Everyone considers him unsociable and difficult; I just know that more than anything else he loves to be hugged, even though his size makes it difficult. My height is only 1.65 m, but I can climb onto a stool a thousand times a day and hug you, to see your sincere joy and satisfied smile.

15.

My husband and I bought a car on a loan. We don’t like borrowing very much and decided to pay it off as quickly as possible, within 12 months. The amount of fees was quite high, but we paid everything anyway. The bad thing was, there wasn’t any more money for summer vacation. That moment came and my husband gave me tickets to Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, saying it was a low-cost vacation. He’s been doing extra work these past few months to save money. This was the best vacation in the world, superior to Buenos Aires and Cancún. We swam in the lakes, cooked, went to the mountains. I came back pregnant and happy!

My wife is pregnant and I do everything for her. One day I came home from work and she was sitting on the couch, eating anchovies and onions next to… strawberries dipped in chocolate. I wasn’t surprised, I was used to it. But all of a sudden, she called me to share the food with her, because “Darling, try it! It’s so delicious, you won’t believe it!” And when I told her that it would be physically impossible to ingest it, she burst into tears saying that no one understood or loved her. I was so scared that I ate this concoction with her and didn’t even choke.

Say what you will, but it’s these little things that shape our lives. And it is in our power to make the loved one keep as many happy memories as possible. By the way, if in any of these stories you recognized yourself, or if you want to share your emotions with us, do not hesitate to write. We will be happy to read your comments.
