I, as a child, wanted to become an easy girl. I remember a neighbor who was so beautiful I can’t even describe her. When she got out of the car at the entrance to the building, all the girls would run to look at her. She gave away the oldest clothes and, for us, nail polish. She was different, she stood out among countless other women. The grandmothers in the neighborhood, whenever they saw her, would say the typical insulting word. And at that moment, I decided that would be it: an easy girl. Of course she said it in a more rude way, like the old women in the neighborhood. My parents still have a recording of my conversation with the school psychologist, an interview to get into first grade. There I was, all well dressed and, to the question: who I wanted to be when I grow up, I proudly replied that I would become a “p…”. My mother went into shock, my father chuckled and I couldn’t understand this reaction as they should be proud of me.
