16 Characters From TV Shows And Movies That Aren’t As “Nice” As They Seem

When we see a movie or a series, we almost immediately identify with the character who has good qualities. Usually, they are characters that make us laugh, cry, sigh and that are etched in our memory for a long time. However, it is important to remember that not everything in the world of film and television is as clear as it seems and, in works of fiction, people also have masks that hide some truths.

Like us, some movie and television heroes also have flaws. Today the awesome.club brings 16 examples of characters who are not as “nice” as they seem.

1. Tony Stark — Iron Man

Iron Man is one of the most beloved superheroes in the Marvel universe. However, when we take a closer look, we realize that he is one of the most stubborn, self-centered and undisciplined characters in stories. On several occasions, his decisions endanger everyone else. For example the time he encouraged young Peter Parker to fight a battle that had nothing to do with him.

2. Rachel Berry — Glee

Rachel Berry is a good example of a character who doesn’t have to be a saint to be interesting. Although she is the main driver for the school choir to come out of anonymity, on many occasions she has shown herself to be a neurotic, selfish and narcissistic girl, like the time she tried to bribe another singer so that she wouldn’t take her focus.

3. Carrie — Sex and the City

Although Carrie says that her friends are the most important thing in her life, on many occasions she demonstrates just the opposite, with capricious behavior that confirms that one of the predominant traits of her personality is narcissism.

In one scene, instead of consoling her injured friend Miranda, she visits her to speak ill of the man she is seeing at that moment. It’s best not to go into too much detail about Big’s marital problems. Yes, in the end she learned her lesson, but a lot of water had to pass under this bridge for her to learn.

4. Eric — The Little Mermaid

Prince Eric is perhaps one of the most handsome of all Disney stories, but even though his seemingly “innocent” behavior won over viewers of the classic, when we look closer we realize that he, like many others, also has his flaws.

When he falls into the water after the shipwreck, for example, Ariel saves him and takes him back to shore. Upon seeing her, he is dumbfounded by her beauty and forgets about all the sailors who were on the boat with him and who also fell into the water. Something to think about, isn’t it?

5. Cady — Mean Girls

At first, Cady was a sweet and very smart girl, and when she arrives at the new school, she makes beautiful friendships. However, the plan to unmask the most popular in the school turns out to awaken the B-side of her own personality. She also wants to be accepted by this group and ends up leaving aside the people who at first approached and stayed by her side.

6. Glinda, the Good Witch of the South — The Wizard of Oz

From the start, Glinda knows that Dorothy can come to her house whenever she wants. However, she hides this information and encourages her to undertake a dangerous crossing into an unknown country to find a magician who, in reality, cannot help her. When you think about it, that’s not something a good witch would do, is it?

7. Eric Forman — That ’70s Show

Yes, this character knows how to capture the hearts of viewers with his calm and irresistibly innocent way. However, in reality, Eric is lazy, unambitious and prefers to keep his rebellious side a secret. Only his best friends know his dark side. All the plot twists that take place on the show are plotted in his basement. At first, he refuses to participate, but ends up participating in everything, without weight on his conscience.

8. Zeus — Hercules

9. Bella Swan — Twilight

Bella is shown to be a respectful, caring and protective young woman. However, she also has certain not-so-positive personality traits. If we think about her relationship with Edward, for example, we see that she is very dependent, so much so that when he ends she is not able to be alone and quickly seeks the company of Jacob.

10. Sabrina — Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

In Chilling Adventures of Sabrina many disastrous things happen, and most of them because the teenage witch thinks more about herself than the well being of the rest of the world. Of course later she tries to work things out, but only when things get really bad.

11. Rachel and Dex — My Best Friend’s Fiancé

The protagonists of this film had only to say what they felt for the plot to change completely. However, they don’t express how they feel about each other, they choose to keep quiet and act behind the backs of those who truly love them. Moral of the story: the best way is to always tell the truth from the beginning.

12. Annie — Maid of Honor Mission

The news of her best friend’s wedding comes at a bad time in the life of the main character of Mission Godmother of the Wedding. But that doesn’t justify her being carried away by jealousy. In the end, she manages to get vetoed from the wedding and also gets the bride to disappear before the ceremony. However, despite the ups and downs, Annie manages to work things out.

13. Rory Gilmore — Gilmore Girls

14. Mark — Simply Love

In the film, Mark’s story is presented as if he were a poor boy who fell in love with the wrong woman. In this case, his best friend’s fiancée. To hide this love, Mark tries to be aloof and cold with her. In the end, his plan goes awry, because he ends up obsessing over the girl and “ruins” her wedding video. In reality, he only records her, not the couple.

15. Walter White — Breaking Bad

Many people who watch the series are moved by the plight of Walter White, a dedicated and intelligent chemistry teacher who goes through a series of tragedies. But as the episodes go by, things take on greater interpretive complexity. His ambition is so great that he plunges deeper and deeper into an unhealthy way of life and even puts his entire family in danger.

16. Ross Geller — Friends

When we look closely at Ross and Rachel’s relationship, we can see that Ross Geller has a few things that stand out: he’s jealous and possessive of Rachel just when their relationship is at its strongest.

Thanks to this, the relationship ends up breaking up. And although he’s very smart, he doesn’t think much about all the ramifications when he decides to commit to Emily. Well, the end of this story we all know: he says Rachel’s name at the altar and the wedding doesn’t come to fruition.

Do you agree with these reviews? What other apparently “good” characters from movies and TV shows do you know? And do you find it interesting that the characters have personalities like that or do you prefer them to be flat, that is, very good or very bad?
