Neighbors are sensitive people. They may be bothered by unfinished work on the house next door, the size of the fence between the plots, or some people’s desire to sleep late. They agree that loud music at 11 pm shows a lack of respect for others and so they will not let this go without notification. It doesn’t matter if they themselves make noise until 3am every now and then. Living alongside other people can bring big surprises — pleasant or not — and today’s stories are proof of that.

O awesome.club found some cases that prove that it is not easy to live with some people. But it’s also not boring. We imagine that you will enjoy and have a good laugh with the testimonials below. At the end of the post, we will show that not all neighbors are difficult to deal with. Check out!

A friend’s story. He lived on the 7th floor. One morning he left the house and, when the neighbor saw him from the elevator, she quickly pressed the button for the doors to close and he could not enter. But my friend didn’t let it go: he descended the stairs quickly by pressing the elevator call button on each of the floors below. My aunt is 70 years old and lives in a house in a gated community. She likes to sleep late, but she always wakes up at 7am to… open the window shutters. She then goes back to bed and sleeps until noon. One day we were all at my mom’s birthday and my aunt said she had to leave by 7pm. My mother insisted: “No, stay a little longer. Is early”. My aunt replied, “I can’t. If I close the shutters too late, the neighbors will think I’m partying around. And if I don’t open them early in the morning, they’ll think I sleep all the time.” That’s how my aunt lives — she can’t stay late at events and can’t sleep late, even if she wants to. Every Saturday, at 6 am, my neighbor would play the song “Who Let The Dogs Out”. As loud as her sound system could handle. I was actually a terrible neighbor. After raining, many snails appeared in our garden. My mother would collect them in a jar and then throw them away. I was 6 years old and I felt sorry for them. So I had a brilliant idea: collect as many snails as I could and… throw them in the neighbor’s garden. I was trying to save them from a terrible fate. I once heard her talking to my mother: the woman was devastated, because the flowers in the backyard were destroyed by the small animals. Even worse was learning that the flowers belonged to her late husband. After that, I started throwing the pets in the other neighbors’ gardens — the ones my mother didn’t like very much.🇧🇷

When we moved into our new house, we gave our neighbors a copy of the keys in case of an emergency, as we travel frequently. Once, however, we returned from one of the trips a day ahead of schedule. When we arrived, to our surprise there was a fleet of cars parked in front of the house, lights all around the perimeter and loud music playing. There were a lot of people inside, cutlery and utensils thrown everywhere, the jacuzzi was on. Our neighbors had a huge party… at our house. We kicked everyone out quickly and changed the locks. My neighbors are a jealous couple. Just the two of them live in a house as good as mine. But that doesn’t seem to be enough. A friend once bought a brand new Kia Rio car. As his garage wasn’t ready yet, he left the vehicle parked in front of my residence. When they saw the car, the neighbors asked: “Whose car is it?”, and I jokingly replied: “Mine”. A week later my friend picked up the car and the neighbors stopped talking to me. Later I found out: they withdrew all the money they had in savings and took a loan from an unreliable bank just to buy a car — and keep our “dispute” of who is better. Can you believe?

I grew up in a condominium of houses. Neighbors had chickens and we often had to kick them out of our backyard. We complained, but to no avail. The situation pissed us off until I found a bunch of eggs in an area between the two lands. I didn’t think much and took them home. Free food at least. People complain about their neighbors for a variety of reasons, but I never thought they would complain about this. Six months ago, we sanded the walls and ceiling of our kitchen to start a project. For financial reasons, we couldn’t continue the process, and the kitchen ended up like this — all sanded. Today I spent the day listening to how the upstairs neighbor seemed to be going crazy. He already:
he shouted “la-la-la-la-la”;
He gave a devilish laugh;
— sang a Beyoncé song;
— ran from someone and broke something;
— loudly emitted the sound “graaaaaaaaaaa”;
— tapped his feet on the floor and said “ta-ta!”

“My friend’s neighbor works as a party entertainer. His balcony is like this”

One of my neighbors would put his garbage bags with mine. It may sound silly, but we could put a maximum of two bags on the garbage truck that passed by weekly to collect them. If there were extra bags, special stickers had to be attached, which had to be purchased. The situation repeated itself for weeks, and I decided to unmask the smart guy. I put on the latex gloves and started digging through the trash to try to figure out who they belonged to. I found a letter with the given address. I went into the bathroom to wash my clothes and suddenly I noticed that there was water falling from the ceiling. I ran upstairs to talk to the neighbors. A very young girl wrapped in a towel opened the door. From the door, a path of rose petals and candles could be seen on the floor at the entrance to the bathroom, from which a boy as young as the girl emerged. Eventually, I helped them fix the problem, and the water stopped running in my apartment. The next day the girl didn’t even want to talk to me and didn’t comment on possible compensation as the problem had been caused by her. On my way back from work, however, I found the girl with her parents in the elevator. She turned pale. They talked about how “studies” were taking too much care of their daughter and, at that moment, she looked at me desperately, as if she were saying: “Please don’t say anything”. My husband and I returned home at dawn. Very tired. We put the key in the lock, turn it and… the door does not open. After a few minutes of unsuccessful attempts, it opened. Our neighbor poked his head out and stared at us — with surprise and a little fear. A few seconds passed, we realized what was happening and we ran away. I am married, but my wife was at work when this happened. A neighbor knocked on my door—wearing a short, half-open bathrobe—with a marinated chicken in her hand and asking to use my oven as hers was broken. In 2010-2011 there was a family living on our floor. I had a good relationship with the couple’s daughter, who was about to graduate from school. At the end of the school year, the girl was getting ready for the graduation party. The problem was that the mother didn’t like her daughter’s boyfriend. She said he didn’t add anything good to her life. She then gave the girl an ultimatum: either she broke up with her boyfriend and got a prom dress or she would go with whatever she had in her closet. The girl packed her bags and moved in with her boyfriend. After a few days we ran into each other and she asked to borrow a dress. We chose a good option: a beautiful long yellow piece that I had kept. After graduation, she gave me back my clothes, gave me two kisses on the cheek, and thanked me immensely for my help. She showed pictures of the ceremony—all the girls in black or blue dresses. And she, in the middle, in yellow. Very special.
