15+ People Told About Their Relationships With Their Inconvenient Relatives

There are different types of relatives. There are those who don’t show much affection, but are always willing to help if you need it. Others, on the other hand, will test your limits and ask for money until there’s not a dime left in your pocket (and they’ll still blame you for it). The closer you live to “unpleasant” relatives, the greater the fights and arguments.

Today’s stories, therefore, are about these familiars that we try not to meet too often. We, from incredible.club, we think you will identify with at least one or even some of the people below, reminding you of your own family. As a bonus, we separate a story about that “unbearable” relative, who feels no shame for the way he treats others. Check out!

My wife and I took the kids to our beach house last night after work. We like to take advantage of the sauna in the house. When we got there, to our surprise, the fridge was practically empty (we had left some products) and the sauna was dirty and with rubbish everywhere, although we always clean it after leaving. Well, we ignored it. When we were in the sauna, enjoying the steam, a young man opened the door and shouted in surprise: “What are you doing here? Today is a weekday!” He was my wife’s cousin, along with his group of friends. After calming down from the scare I had taken, I discovered that, a year ago, my wife had given this cousin the keys to the house for him to celebrate his birthday, but the “clever” “forgot” to return it. He and his friends came over to our house just last week and ate all the food in the fridge. Evidently, I took the keys and sent them on their way. The most curious thing was that they were indignant with me and even threatened me saying that they would sue me for the insults. © al56.81 / Pikabu

My grandparents lived their entire lives in an old house in the countryside, located in a more remote area of the city. Then, a housing renovation plan for the area was announced and, therefore, the government offered my grandparents land on the same street for them to build a new house. 10 years have passed, my grandparents have died and I decided to move to that region. I took over the inheritance rights and built a house on the new land of 100 m². My grandparents’ old house was still there as they didn’t want to move. After a few years of living there, my aunt came to visit me and said:
“Look, my granddaughters and I are going to come spend the whole summer here with you.
I said I had a husband and 3 kids and couldn’t accommodate that many people for very long. It would be fine if it was for a few days, but no more than that. My aunt looked at me in surprise and said:
“But there’s no place in your grandfather’s old house…”
I took her to the house where she grew up and said, “You can stay here as long as you like.”
She doesn’t talk to me anymore. © BabulyaIra / Pikabu

A friend told me this story. He lived in a big city and rented a shared apartment with 2 other friends.
His mother called in the evening:
“Hello, little boy!” Your aunt Olga called me, the one you saw at your cousin’s wedding 10 years ago. She, her husband and the children are on their way there. Pick them up at the station, help with housing and take them to beautiful places. They want to spend a week there with you. Let your friends know to see if they can stay somewhere else for 7 days.
“Mom, I can’t do this. They pay the rent for the house. If she intends to stay a week, it is better to look for a hotel. I can only offer my room for one night.
After 40 minutes, Aunt Olga called saying that the big city had changed him and that her family would no longer help him if he needed it. My friend reflected on the fact that he had gone 26 years without any help from them, so he could probably manage on his own from then on. © qreativnay / Pikabu

My mother-in-law made a point of calling us on Saturday mornings, even though she knew we slept late that day. She told me what I should cook for my husband, she complained that his clothes weren’t clean enough, and she gave other “helpful” advice. Once she even tried to tell me what to wear to bed. I told my husband to talk to her, but he wouldn’t. It was then that I decided to put an end to that behavior. I gathered all my husband’s clothes and we went to her house. When we got there, I threw a bag of clothes in front of my mother-in-law and told her that if she thought she could be a “better wife” for my husband, she should take him back. My husband didn’t know about my plan and was upset, but at least that way they talked and the bullying stopped. © Rob Williams / Quora My cousin and I are the only granddaughters of my grandfather, who unfortunately died this year. He left her his entire inheritance – around 22 thousand reais. I was upset initially, but I didn’t take my outrage out on anyone. It was my grandfather’s choice. Once my cousin came to visit us and spent the whole night trying to find out more about our financial situation. She made insinuations, guesses, asked about details of our funding. Finally, I said that we intended to pay off the installments at once, but I didn’t say that we would do that because of the sale of the family car. She actually thought that our grandfather had left me a larger sum and was enraged. At that time, I decided to add more fuel to the fire by saying that I had, yes, received a larger amount. She couldn’t control herself and left offending everyone in the family. I was not at all sorry for having lied. © 443Lyashkakonya / Pikabu

I was on the farm picking vegetables in my garden when I heard someone shout my name. Three people appeared from behind the fence: my uncle, his brother and a cousin.
“Hi, nephew!” We were here near your area fishing, do you have food at home?
“You can go to the kitchen.”
On the way, these 3 men were picking up parsley, onions and turnips, as if they were in their own house.🇧🇷 After 10 minutes, I entered the house and saw that they finished the food at lightning speed, except for the cousin, who only ate some peanuts and looked suspiciously at the food. My uncle asked me:
— What happened to the products? There was almost nothing here. The vegetables were not cooked, and there was no seasoning or salt in the food.
— Yes, because I prepared this food for the dog. The food for dinner is the duck in the oven.
At that time the cousin got up and said:
— I told you not to eat, but you didn’t listen to me and kept eating and eating. © Gusdomashniy / Pikabu

“My brother (right) and me (left). We prayed a lot for this photo to disappear, but my uncle managed to find it, perhaps, in the depths of the sea and posted it on Facebook.”

My brother borrowed some baby furniture I had. He lived in another city, so I paid for the parts to be transported by ship. I emphasized that I was only borrowing it temporarily as I planned to give the furniture to my son when he grows up. It was a set of a crib, changing table and a children’s bed (all handmade, in mahogany), which cost me around 2,400 reais. Delivery wasn’t cheap either. A few months after receiving the furniture, my brother told us that he and his wife had lost the child they were expecting. Later, when I asked for the furniture to be returned to me, I was informed that my brother’s wife had already sold everything, as “she needed the money to travel after the loss of her son”. © Wendy Marie Wortham / Quora

My husband and I lived alone in an apartment. After arriving home from work, I started to notice that things weren’t in their place and that some products just disappeared from the fridge. The big “secret” was revealed when I got sick and had to go home early. I got home and there it was… my mother-in-law! She had made copies of our house keys and went through absolutely everything—fridge, cupboards, bathroom—when we weren’t in the apartment.🇧🇷 I, of course, have heard many stories about mothers-in-law, but I think mine came out ahead. © Подслушано / VK

Once I broke my foot and my husband had to take care of the housework. After a few days, I called my mother-in-law and asked her to help us with the house and the kids. She already came in saying that I was being selfish for not doing anything, but she didn’t wash a single dish herself, not even hers after eating. She was upset that I bought my husband a birthday cake instead of making it at home. I endured this hell for 3 months. After a while, after this troubled period, she returned to our house, and my father-in-law said that she had pain in her legs and that I was to help her if she needed it. She sat around all day just complaining and giving orders. But when I went to take her to the train station to say goodbye, she started to walk normally, without a limp, as if she had never had any pain. © Sarah Infante / Quora

I recently bought a new car — leather seats, comfortable and very nice. During the summer, every weekend, I took my family and my wife’s sister’s family to our beach house in my car. Gasoline expenses were always on me; they never offered to split it. Also, after a while, they took their cat with them, who screamed the whole way, scratched the seats, and shed fur everywhere. Then I cleaned everything myself. So I asked them to at least take the cat in the carrier, but they got upset and said they wouldn’t go with me anymore: they went by bus the next time and noticed that public transport didn’t offer the same comfort, so they accepted my conditions and bought a transporter. Now they always complain about the time taken to put the cat in the carrier and act like they’re doing me a favor🇧🇷 © superomsk / Pikabu

When I was 22 and in college, my relatives started asking me when I was going to get married. I grew up in North India, where a woman is seen as a “complement” to a man, and her talent and achievements are not taken seriously. At a certain point they decided it was time to find me a husband. My aunt found a young man named Ajay, and one fine day, she came to our house and told my father that I should “put on a nice outfit”, because the boy’s family would arrive in the evening to meet me. She spoke as if she was doing our family a huge favor. My father was shocked by that and said that…
