I was hospitalized, I had been admitted to the hospital a few days before the birth and my aunt and uncle came to visit me. So I went out and found them in the car. Talking to them, I felt something wet. I became hysterical and screamed, “My water broke.” The doctor examined me and there was nothing. I found out that my uncle had accidentally washed the car and wet the seats and I sat right in the wet. I remember how embarrassed I was. © Jamilya Shirvanova / Facebook

My first pregnancy was fine, but I got nauseous from very random things. Tomato with skin? God forbid. Not to mention raw onions. My mom had to sauté it at her house and bring it over so I could make my own food. And I got addicted to my mother-in-law’s pelmini. She ate huge portions and still asked for more. She also wanted to eat cherries all the time. © Julia Markman / Facebook

In my eighth month of pregnancy, I walked to work. It was February, everything was gray and damp, the trees bare of leaves. Then I saw a tree that had a single brown leaf that swayed by itself in the wind. I felt so sorry for her. I decided to try to catch her, without success. The children who were nearby saw the scene and helped me. I still have that sheet. © Olia Ba / Facebook

During my second pregnancy, we went to visit relatives. They had several small dams nearby. One day we had a barbecue while the men fished. Suddenly I saw several crayfish in the net among the fish. I put my husband in the middle of the pond to get more, even though he was at risk of cutting his legs on the stakes. He got a bucket of crayfish and I ate several myself. No one dared to come between me and the crayfish! © Gabriela Rybchenko / Facebook

I was put in the prenatal ward for a week before having my c-section, which ended up happening on January 3rd, in the middle of the Russian New Year holidays. Well, I watched TV until 3am, ate a whole basket of tangerines and a huge box of Ferrero Rocher. At 5:45 am my water broke. I started yelling at my sister to call the nurse because her shift was going to end at 7am. I got scared and said I didn’t want to give birth that day because I didn’t get enough sleep. The medical staff made fun of me. Well, one more thing: she said she wouldn’t go into the operating room until my husband, who is a doctor, brings the suture. But he didn’t show up, do you know why? Because he was shaving. He said: “I couldn’t meet my daughter with the ugly beard!” © Anna Smirnova / Facebook

My wife only wanted to eat Soviet food when she was pregnant. And she still wanted to smell it all the time. We drove around the whole city, we ended up finding a small snack bar. We would never go to a place like that if it weren’t for the pregnancy. Result: my daughter loves cheap sausages. The cheapest and lowest quality she has. © Sergey Vladimirovich / Facebook

I spent my entire pregnancy sniffing soap. I would wake up at 3 am, take three from the bedside table and choose one to sleep in the hand next to my nose. My friend was the opposite. Her husband was a truck driver. He once came back from a two-week trip smelling and covered in diesel fuel. She was in tears: “Love, don’t shower, go to bed, I want to sleep smelling of you!” In addition, she cried because her husband wouldn’t let her put diesel fuel on her bread to eat. © Helen La / Facebook

My first pregnancy was pretty uneventful. I didn’t understand what women complained about so much. In the second, I had morning sickness and I enjoyed feeling them, because I understood the reason for the complaints. Another time I yelled at the pizza delivery guy. He rang the bell and I thought it was my husband. I opened the door yelling, “If you have the keys, why are you ringing the doorbell!?” And even though I knew it wasn’t my husband, I kept screaming. The man just kept smiling. Thank you for not taking offense. © Natalia Rusetskaya / Facebook

I felt like eating marinated carrot salad when I was pregnant. My husband and I went to the supermarket, grabbed a tray, but forgot to grab a fork. I simply opened the tray and started eating it with my hand. When I realized it, I looked up at my husband and asked: “I look crazy, right?” He replied, “Well, I know why, but it’s quite a scene.” © Lilia Kondratyuk / Facebook

In my first pregnancy I had terrible nausea until almost the middle of the fifth month, and my belly was already very prominent. And then, suddenly, at 5 am on a Sunday morning, the nausea passed and I really wanted a chocolate cake. But not just any chocolate cake, one from a specific supermarket. I held firm until 7 am.
The market did not open until 8:00 am, but employees arrived about 15 to 20 minutes earlier. When they saw me with a pregnant belly in tears, one of them took pity on me and let me in. In short: it was 8 am, me, the only customer in the store, and the cashier trying to pass the barcode that I ended up tearing when I opened the cake packaging to eat. © Elena Sle / Facebook

In 1995, I was pregnant with my first child and I had an uncontrollable desire for condensed milk, but I didn’t have it in any market. My mother had to go to another city. I remember dancing and jumping as they opened the can for me. I ran to the back room afraid someone might want it too. I ate half and was relieved. This happened eight years ago. When I gave birth, the doctor said: “Give me the number of a relative to congratulate him”. My mother’s number came to mind. A strange man answered the call. The doctor was soon saying: “Congratulations, your son was born”. The scene looked like something out of a movie. They laughed for a long time. When I was in the seventh month of pregnancy, I had to go to the hospital. I was hospitalized with a girl who was in her seventh month. She brushed her teeth every half hour.
