12 Thriller Movies That Might Be Some of the Best You’ll See in 2020

The film tells the story of Shirley Jackson, author of the novel The Curse of the Residence🇧🇷 The writer had depression and even slept in her shoes. In an attempt to get his beloved out of this crisis, her husband invites a young couple — Rose and Fred — to live with them for a period and help them with the housework.

Rose turned out to be a real fan of Shirley’s work. But the “horror genius” had many secrets in store, and the young couple could not imagine what was to come.

This is the newest film by horror expert David Bruckner, known for the feature film The ritual and for the trilogy VHS🇧🇷 The bright cast and good reviews from critics encourage even more to watch it.

Cassie was the type of person who had what it takes to have a bright future: smart, responsible, medical student. However, a tragedy turns her life upside down, which makes the girl give up her career and start working as a waitress. She seems to have lost her life goals. All but one: revenge for what they did to her.

The film was directed by the creator of the second season of the series Killing Eve: Double Obsession, Emerald Fennell. It managed to bring together an enviable cast and majestically combine characteristics of an intense thriller with touches of comedy.

The story tells of 12 strangers, who wake up trapped in the middle of a forest without knowing how they got there. Little by little, they realize that they are being hunted. Despite the seemingly banal idea, the film surprises with its twists, deep social criticism and references to George Orwell.

Canadian thriller about survival that takes the viewer into the wilderness of a snow covered forest, which stretches for hundreds of kilometers.

A group of people decide to participate in a survival training led by a famous blogger. Everything went peacefully until a great misfortune happened. From then on, everyone will need to apply their own knowledge in practice. Some of the positives: stunning settings, short duration (only 80 minutes) and detailed plot, which keeps the suspense until the last minute.

Tyler Perry — known for his role in the film Gone Girl — decided to shoot a feature similar to David Fincher’s masterpiece. The result wasn’t bad at all: the story is marked by tension, intrigue, complex plot and unforgettable interpretations.

A woman confessed to killing her own husband. However, her lawyer began to doubt this testimony when he learned of the circumstances – at least mysterious – of the marriage in which she was living.

Shannon—Mary Gilbert’s eldest daughter—did not show up for dinner. The girl managed to make one last call to the police, but got no help because of her marginalized profession: she was a prostitute, like many other missing girls. Shannon’s mother had no choice but to launch an investigation of her own.

The film recalls the recent success Three Advertisements for One Crime by Martin McDonagh, and manages to immerse the viewer in the details of the crime. It is worth noting that the story is based on real events.

The story of a couple who leave war-torn Sudan to try to settle down in the UK. As refugees, they receive poor quality housing, with rats and cockroaches. But the worst part is the mysterious neighbor who lives in the apartment below.

This is director Remi Weekes’ debut, and many companies have fought over the rights to the film. The feature managed to perfectly portray this recurrent situation, also leaving the public in suspense from beginning to end.

Joseph is a humble young man who lives in London and works at the airport. He lives his whole life going from work to home and vice versa, however, the relationship with his colleagues is marked by friction. Joseph is so “invisible”, that only his parents remembered his birthday. And that was the last straw, which makes the protagonist decide to completely change his attitude.

The events of the film unfold on the streets of London over 24 hours, as the hero tries to find himself.
