Who has never missed the lyrics of a song in their life? Many people get confused between the rhymes and end up hearing words that may sound similar, but are not part of the original composition. It was with this in mind that we, from the awesome.club, we gathered some reports from internet users who were surprised to discover that certain childhood songs didn’t say exactly what they thought. Did you also sing them wrong?

1. Shang’s music in Mulan

This one must have confused a lot of people. the animation Mulan, released in 1998, features some of the most beloved songs from Disney classics. One of them is sung by Commander Li Shang, leader of the Chinese troop, as he trains young and unprepared recruits for the coming war. At the top of his lungs, he intones:

man be
We’ll be swift as a river
man be
With the force of a typhoon
man be
In the soul, always a burning flame
May the moonlight bring us inspiration

With a battle along the way, it’s not surprising that many people have understood the character to say a much more confident phrase than “Man to be”. This was the case with this internet user:

2. The opening of pokemon

In the 1990s, anime pokemon became a real phenomenon among children. When it arrived in Brazil, shown on open TV by Record, on Eliana’s program, the success was immediate. The presenter herself took a ride on the repercussion of the drawing and released some songs based on the adventures of Ash and Pikachu. But it was the opening song that seemed to confuse people. The original lyrics said:

Around the world I will travel
Trying to find
A Pokemon and with its power
everything transform

pokemon
Gotta get ’em (this I know)

catch them i will try
pokemon
Together we will have the world to defend

Kim Possible, the famous heroine of the Disney Channel animated series, was successful in the early 2000s. In the story, a teenager tries to reconcile her school obligations while fighting crime in the city. For this, she used a kind of cell phone on which she answered requests for help. And the opening song confirmed:

Call, call, I’m your friend
When you need it just say
I’m always available
Call, call, I’m your friend

But this internet user thought that the cartoon character was already attuned to the current language of social networks:

5. The opening of The Backyardigans

When the Backyardigans started singing on TV, it was hard to get that little song out of your head. Pablo, Tyrone, Uniqua, Tasha and Austin got together to get up to great adventures in the garden. The song said the following:

Your little friends the Backyardigans
Together we are the Backyardigans
where is our place
we like to sing
And we like to dance

Makes sense, right? However, for some reason, these netizens thought that the little creatures didn’t really like living there. See how they understood the lyrics:

6. “Good morning, little friends, I’m already here…”

If you were a fan of Xuxa, you probably remember the many songs that the blonde hit during her career dedicated to children. One of her hits in the 1980s was the track “Amiguinha Xuxa”, which she played when the presenter left the ship on her TV show. The refrain read:

let’s all go at once
Jump, dance, run, fall to the ground

The song certainly remained in the memory of many people who watched Rainha dos Baixinhos at the time. But not everyone understood everything she sang, like this person here:

7. “I’m going to paint a rainbow of energy…”

Other hit de Xuxa, which became famous when it was released as one of the themes of Super Xuxa Against Low Astral, it was “Rainbow”. The song is played in the first scene of the film, in which the blonde appears painting a wall surrounded by children and her dog, Xuxo. The lyrics are unmistakable:

Every color has it
A light, a certain magic
Every color has it
Emotions in the form of poetry

Some people, however, got a little confused when singing the chorus. But in the end, the meaning was preserved. Check it out:

8. “The Animal Orchestra”

One of the classics of the Brazilian children’s songbook, “A Orquestra dos Bichos🇧🇷, originally released by Trem da Alegria, has already been covered by names such as Xuxa, Eliana and Patati Patatá. In the lyrics, a group of animals decides to form a band and it is up to the chicken to assume the position of vocalist. The chorus goes like this:

the crowd exploded
That’s how it came about
the singing hen
most famous in Brazil

But this internet user “changed the balls” and probably thought that the bird was too strong when it came time to release its voice:

10. “Hakuna Matata”

another song by The Lion King that seems to have messed with some fans’ heads is the unforgettable “Hakuna Matata”. The expression, originated in the Swahili language, is widely used in the East African region and, as Pumba himself explains in the film, means “no problem”. Remember the chorus:

Hakuna matata
It’s beautiful to say
Hakuna matata
yes you will understand
Your troubles you must forget
This is living, this is learning
Hakuna matata

Perhaps many children got confused when trying to reproduce this song in childhood, after all, it is a phrase spoken in another language. Anyway, we think that this netizen who got the lyrics mixed up is probably really into carbs:
