6. Connect the dots in this logic puzzle
You have a 9-point grid. The grid is 3 rows by 3 columns as shown in the image. Using 4 straight lines and without lifting the pencil, go through each point once.
7. The challenge of the 7 logical candles
There is a big round cake with 7 candles along its edges. You must extinguish all 7 candles that are placed in a circle. The rule is: once you blow out one candle, the next ones go out too. If you blow out an unlit candle, it will light up again. So if you blow out a candle, it goes from lit to unlit and vice versa (just like the candles on either side). How can you blow out all the candles in the least number of times?
Tip: blowing out the same candle twice is the same as not blowing at all. Blowing the same candle 3 times is the same as blowing it once.
8. A lamp and 3 switches
There is a lamp inside a closet that is closed. You can’t see if the light is on or off through the door, even though you know it’s been off from the start. There are 3 switches on the outside of the cabinet and one of them controls the lamp. You can press the switches any way you want, but once you open the door, you won’t be able to touch them anymore.
Which switch controls the light?
9. Apples and Oranges Riddle
You have 3 boxes. One has oranges, one has apples, and one has oranges and apples. The first box is labeled “apples”, the second box is labeled “oranges” and the third box is labeled “apples and oranges”. Unfortunately the 3 boxes are mislabeled so you have to fix them. You cannot look inside any of the boxes, but you can request a sample from any of them. What is the minimum number of samples you must order to correctly label all boxes?
10. The hourglass logic challenge
There are 2 hourglasses in front of you. One of them measures 7 minutes, the other measures 4 minutes. How do you calculate the 9 minute time using just these two times?
