1. Salt

Anyone who has adopted an animal knows well that when it appears with fleas, there is a great chance that your home has already been taken over. In these cases, common table salt can be used as a natural way to get rid of the infestation. The method of use is very simple, just throw a good amount of salt on the upholstery and furniture, leave it for a couple of days to take effect and then remove everything with a vacuum cleaner.

2. Basil

Basil doesn’t just go well in sauces and pizza. It is also a great natural fly repellent. What happens is that these insects generally do not like the smell that the herb has. Therefore, to get rid of them, just plant it in a small vase and leave it in a very sunny place, because basil does not adapt well to the cold.

3. Baking soda

To use, you can throw a large amount on the affected area, such as an anthill, and then throw vinegar to enhance the gas release effect, mix it with a little sugar or just sprinkle it on top and let it act for a few minutes. This last trick is even effective against bedbug infestations.

4. mint

Mint, especially because of the oil that can be extracted from its leaves, in addition to smelling, has the potential to keep mosquitoes away from you. The repellent effects can be felt when using a few drops of the oil diluted in water or a very strong tea made with the leaves. Both must be sprinkled around the house. Having it planted in your garden can also help.

5. molasses

Another homemade ingredient that can make a great repellent for your garden is molasses. To use it, just dissolve it in water and spray it on all your little plants. This method is effective against caterpillars and grasshoppers. Some recipes recommend adding a little liquid soap to the mix as well. Anyway, this trick is still very good for your crop, because the large amount of sugar can help fertilize it.

6. Coffee grounds

7. Cornmeal and Borax

A mixture of cornmeal and borax, a cheap and readily available material, is quite effective at eliminating ants. The method of use is to put the two together, add some liquid such as honey, place it near where the insects appear and wait for the results.

8. Neem oil

Neem oil has a compound called azadirachtin, which gives it repellent abilities against many types of insects. What happens is that this substance prevents bugs, such as whiteflies, mites, leafhoppers and others from feeding on the leaves of plants and laying eggs in them. The method of use is to spray the product on the leaves. If your oil is pure, mix it with water and a little liquid soap.

9. Cucumber

In addition to bringing freshness to your salad, cucumber can also ward off ants, as they don’t like its bitter taste. This trick is very simple, just cut some slices or just use the skins of the vegetable, and place them in places where insects are appearing or in your garden.
