10 Pairs of Characters Who Got the Voices of the Same People And Many Didn’t Realize

When watching a series, movie or animation dubbed into our language, have you ever noticed how some characters seem to have the same voice? Who is behind this are the voice actors. They are the ones who help give life to the “Brazilianized” versions of those characters we love and, in this process, it is quite common for some of them to be “interpreted” by the same professional and maybe we don’t even notice.

Pumbaa and Shrek

The voice actor Mauro Ramos took over the voice of the green ogre in the film Shrek the Third after the death of Bussunda, who provided the character’s former voice in Portuguese. However, he is also known for voicing Pumbaa, the lion king’s boar; Dom Pixote, from Zé Colmeia; and Penguin, from the animation The New Batman.

Adult Simba and He-Man

Garcia Júnior was the voice actor for the Brazilian versions of He-Man, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe; the adult Simba, the Lion King; and the characters of actors Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford and Robin Williams on screen; as well as Donald Duck; the woodpecker; and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid.

Seu Madruga e Palhaço Krusty

Carlos Seidl is the professional who made the Brazilian voices for Seu Madruga, by Chaves; Krusty the Clown, from The Simpsons; Tywin Lannister, from the Game of Thrones series; Sarge, from Toy Story — A World of Adventures; Thorny from A Bug’s Life; and Crab, from the animation Finding Nemo.

Chiquinha and Morticia Addams

Cecília Lemes not only dubbed Chiquinha, from Chaves, and Morticia Addams, from A Família Addams, but she is also the voice most people think of when thinking about Cindy, from Zé Colmeia; Sarah Sanderson, from the film Abracadabra; Lucy, from the animation Magical Warriors of Rayearth; Karen from SpongeBob SquarePants; and Tsunade from Naruto.

She-Ra and Olivia Palito

Fátima Mourão’s voice is remembered mainly by the characters She-Ra, from She-Ra: A Princesa do Poder and Olívia Palito, from Popeye, but also by other characters, such as Riquinho Rico, from the animation Riquinho; Mary, from the movie ET — The Extra-Terrestrial; and Trinity, from the Matrix trilogy.

Crazy Billy and Vegeta

Bulma and Dona Danuza

The voice actress Tânia Gaidarj became known for dubbing Bulma, in the animated series Dragon Ball and doing the original voice of Dona Danuza, in Irmão do Jorel. Other characters that won her voice were Serena, from Sinbad: In the Limits of the Adventure; Gloria, from Chaves; Izumi, from the animation Fullmetal Alchemist; and Emily Charlton, from the film The Devil Wears Prada.

Goku and SpongeBob

Voice actor Wendel Bezerra is remembered for lending his voice to SpongeBob, the main character of SpongeBob SquarePants and the adult version of Goku, from Dragon Ball. He also voiced Kidomaru from Naruto; Sanji, from One Piece; Jackie Chan, from the animated series The Adventures of Jackie Chan; and Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
