The director of the first film in the franchise Harry Potter I wanted to show in the scene how Hermione’s real reaction would be when the girl saw a real celebrity up close for the first time in her life – the Boy Who Lived. So Chris Columbus asked Emma Watson to simply say the first thing that popped into her head when she realized that Harry Potter himself was standing in front of her.
