1. NGO takes itinerant baths to homeless people

In the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, a beautiful social project emerged from the initiative of friends Ana Paula Rios and Marihá Lopes. The two were already doing social work and saw the need to set up a structure so that homeless people could shower and brush their teeth. The adapted trailer has two showers and the team walks around the city squares offering affection and more dignity to these people.

2. Obstetrician “plants” a tree for every child she brings into the world

Doctor Calixto Hueb has been an obstetrician for over 40 years in the city of Macatuba, in the interior of São Paulo, and since 2001 he has been developing a project of immense social and environmental value. Whenever he brings a baby into the world, the doctor offers the mother and baby a tree seedling, which can be planted in one of the city squares. In 2014, the city hall turned the idea into a bill and was in charge of paying for the gifts.

3. Company creates machines that exchange recyclables for points

The Return Machine is a machine that allows you to exchange recyclable material for points. The idea, from the company Triciclo, was initially put into practice in the capital of São Paulo, later reaching other parts of the country. People insert various types of recyclable products into the machine and exchange them for benefits such as cell phone recharge, public transport tickets and discounts on their electricity bills. A way to encourage collection and prevent waste from polluting the environment.

Little Iarley Bermudes is an example of resilience and the strength to overcome challenges. He dreamed of being a successful youtuber. Today, he has a channel on this social network that addresses various topics and already has more than 18,000 subscribers. In addition, he speaks at schools, fairs, TV shows and other events, trying to raise awareness against discrimination and bullying.

The restaurant O Mirandês has been operating for just over a year in the São Paulo neighborhood of Santa Cecília. Few people knew that the establishment had an illustrious neighbor who loves to help: the dancer Rita Cadillac. She, who already frequented the place, decided to help out and, as soon as the company started making deliveries, Rita was willing to go to customers’ homes on weekends, free of charge. The Pernambuco startup Neurobots, founded by technology director Vitor Hazin and his partner Júlio Dantas, developed a product that works as a Brain-Machine Interface. The initial idea came about as a personal project, but it was adapted and today it serves to help in the treatment of sequelae of Cerebral Vascular Accidents (CVAs).

To try to solve the problem, journalist, writer and sociologist Ana Emília Cardoso decided to set up a language teaching project called Bonne Chance🇧🇷 Through it, foreigners have the opportunity to teach and earn their living.

9. Project donates hygiene products to homeless people

When we think of homeless people, we imagine that the only way to help is to offer food or blankets. But the Mini Kindness project went further. The campaign aims to collect and distribute hygiene products (soaps, shampoos, pads) to donate to people in need. To help is very simple: at collection points, you can leave that soap you received from a hotel or a free sample. This can make all the difference to the recipient.

10. Company makes glasses by recycling old vinyl records

The São Paulo sunglasses company Notiluca innovated and works with frames made from recyclable materials such as wood and stone. The brand also launched a limited edition, the Vinil Edition, with only 150 pieces, having used, as raw material, vinyl records that would be discarded. The glasses were sold in a beautiful box with a bag, a keyring, a pick and a 7-inch record with songs from two Brazilian bands. What a cool initiative! The Planet thanks you.
