Insects like bedbugs aren’t exactly welcome in our homes. But the fact is, they are just looking for a warm place to survive. So it’s best to try to release them outdoors.

It is normal to feel a certain fear of spiders. After all, they move quickly and have many paws! And, of course, many of them are poisonous. However, spiders are an important part of the ecosystem. Some species build webs to capture pests, fighting disease-causing insects such as mosquitoes.

But it’s good to make a warning: that doesn’t mean you need to attract all the neighborhood bees to your house!

The lacewings are small, but very useful. They are known to release an unpleasant odor when touched. These insects are also reputed to devour aphids, being able to eat no less than 200 of them a week. Among the members of its “menu” are whiteflies, mites, leafhoppers and mealybugs. Some companies even market the insect’s eggs to promote biological pest control.

The earwigs may seem scary, as they have small claws capable of intimidating, but the truth is that they are good to have around. They are relatively harmless as long as you don’t touch them. Such insects feed on small dead creatures and decaying plant matter, which is of paramount importance to the ecosystem of any garden.

These insects have tiny dimensions. However, as they feed on about 60 different types of aphids, they are a very beneficial presence in any garden. By the way, these little animals are able to exterminate aphids more quickly than ladybugs or lacewings. When you see them in your backyard, garden or plantation, know that you will be counting on big (or, rather, small) allies to control pests.

If you have tomato plants in your green area, never kill the braconid wasps that may appear. The insect feeds on the dreaded tomato pinworm, being able to save an entire crop of the fruit. And he is still useful to fight other pests.

Harvestmen are often confused with spiders, but they are different from them, not having toxins. Their diet encompasses a vast number of pests and spiders. Thus, it is a great advantage to have these creatures in gardens and close to indoor plants.
