10 Hard Truths to Admit

Julien Smith, an American writer and coach, believes that the world somehow wants people to be stupid. Thus, they are easier to manipulate. But if you accept the world as it really is (instead of living the illusion that you’re in a fairy tale), life can be simpler, no matter how difficult things are.

O awesome.club separated for you 10 truths that are difficult to admit, but that, admitted, could simplify life.

1. Most of your memories are false

The brain goes over some things by manipulating and mixing up our memories. We do not remember the event itself, but a last memory of it, and then the memory of that memory, and so on. Do you remember the famous “cordless phone”? Much the same is true when you use your memory to remember something.

2. Some people were lucky enough to be born into richer, more structured families…

Luck, fate…call it what you want. Some people’s lives are more complicated than others. Some are born in a poor neighborhood and have to drop out of school to earn money and support themselves, while others are born heirs to large corporations. It is easy to imagine who will have a more successful life. Yes, there are exceptions. However, we cannot say that there are many.

3. It’s easy to blame others for our failure

4. The world owes you nothing

Even if you are beautiful, smart, educated and have an amazing personality, it doesn’t mean that the world will happily open all doors for you. Successful people know that there are only two options: spend their whole lives thinking they deserve more and things should fall from the sky or fight for their place in the sun, knowing that the fight will absolutely not be easy. It’s your choice.

5. You have more time than you think

Each week has 168 hours. It might seem like a lot. But just postpone the things that these 168 hours fly by and soon, you won’t have time for anything. Replace the phrase “I don’t have time” with “this is not my priority”. Don’t play sports and eat fast food? In practice, taking care of health is not a priority. Doesn’t help your spouse with household chores? This relationship is not a priority. Sounds harsh, but it’s honest.

6. Your life will never be perfect

There will never be a right time to get married, have a child, change jobs or move countries. Waiting for the right time to change often just means that you are afraid to change or don’t want to get out of your comfort zone. Do what scares you. Otherwise, you will be afraid all your life.

7. No one is so busy that they can’t answer you

8. You don’t have to like everyone

It doesn’t matter how kind, generous and noble a person is. In the world there will always be those who consider only their faults.

9. Life is unfair

You will not always be rewarded for good work. And if you’re a caring and attentive person, that doesn’t mean your spouse won’t leave you. Crime sometimes pays. Anyway, we’re sorry, but life isn’t always fair. And expecting her to be fair will often hurt her.

10. The person most likely to kill you is yourself

Some people break down little by little. Bad habits, violation of traffic rules… we often put ourselves in danger. And they say people are rational.

If you understand these things, you can make your life more transparent and light. What would you add to the list?
