Cast of Everybody hates Chris

The series Everybody hates Chris was launched in 2005, but is still a great success in Brazil. What few people know is that this comedy is inspired by the life of actor and comedian Chris Rock. This means that Julius and Rochelle, Greg and other characters were based on people who lived with him. One artistic liberty that Rock took was choosing only two of six siblings to be represented: Tonya (based on Tony Rock) and Drew (based on Andrew Rock).

Including, his brother Tony made a special appearance as Chris’s uncle in one of the episodes of the series. Now, can you imagine what it would be like if he decided to put all the other brothers as characters?

the genius of Aladdin

Robin Williams was one of the most famous actors in the early 90’s when he accepted to give life to the Genie, the animation character Aladdin (1992). Although the producers initially looked for comedians, when they heard Williams improvise they were impressed with the artist’s talent. The protagonist’s companion, then, won his space in the film and won the hearts of many viewers with his quick tirades.

Eric Goldberg, animator of the film, revealed that everything was recorded in sessions that totaled about 16 hours and that, as the actor always provided many interpretations, much of the material recorded by the actor was not used. In 2019, actor Will Smith brought the character to life in the remake of Aladdinand took the opportunity to honor Robin Williams.

Miss Piggy from The Muppets

the most character fashion from the puppet universe was inspired by a music star! That’s right, Miss Piggy was based on jazz singer Peggy Lee. Despite her fame in fiction, the inspiring muse was not very happy to be represented by a diva puppet.

Peggy was one of the most famous voices of her generation, and she also managed to leave her musical legacy to children around the world: she sings the song of the Siamese cats in The Lady and the Tramp🇧🇷 Both Piggy and Peggy have one thing in common: both manage to steal the attention of the place with their individual talent.

Brienne of Tarth from game of Thrones

She is a brave woman, who in her armor, fought for her ideals. This definition could serve both Brienne de game of Thrones, as well as for the French heroine Joan of Arc. This was one of the historical figures who inspired the fictional character.

The physical characteristics of the two are quite similar, but despite the similarities, it was not just Joan of Arc who helped build Brienne. In an interview with the website The Mary Suewriter George R. R. Martin confirmed the inspiration in Joan, but also stated that she was one of the numerous influences for the character, such as Xena, the Warrior Princess and also Lady Macbeth.

Miranda Priestly de The devil Wears Prada

everyone who sees The devil Wears Prada is impressed by the coolness (and elegance) of Miranda Priestly. She runs a fashion magazine and literally doesn’t have time for someone just starting out. What few know is that the iconic character, played by Meryl Streep, was inspired by the editor-in-chief of vogue: none other than Anna Wintour.

Despite appearing to be a plastered figure, Streep added her own touch to bring the journalist to life. To the vogue, the actress revealed that the smooth and acidic tone of voice was based on Clint Eastwood. After that, you can even imagine Miranda Priestly in a western, right?!

Piper Chapman de Orange Is The New Black

The Story of the Protagonist Orange Is The New Black was based on the life of Piper Kerman, a memoirist from the United States who ended up getting involved in a crime and ending up in prison. In 2010, a production company discovered Piper’s book and decided to create a series about the US prison system.

A big difference between the character and the person is that the “real-life Piper” actually married writer Larry Smith, while the one on the show didn’t have a happy ending with the boy.

Ursula of The Little Mermaid

The most famous sea witch in animation was inspired by a drag queen🇧🇷 According to the feature’s team, after previous drafts made by other animators, Rob Minkoff was the one who arrived at the key design for animation. Everyone noticed similarities between Minkoff and Divine’s design and soon observed that she could serve as an inspiration for the character, especially Howard Ashman, who since then was one of the main responsible for the conception of Ursula’s personality.

Disney is planning a version live action for The Little Mermaid🇧🇷 With Hailey Bailey in the role of Ariel, and actress Melissa McCarthy was left to play the antagonist. Will Melissa look like the character from the animation?

the character zorro

Known as the “Mexican Robin Hood”, the hero Joaquín Murieta was one of the main inspirations for Johnston McCulley to create Zorro🇧🇷 According to reports, Joaquín would have arrived in California during the gold rush, and there he built a controversial reputation: some saw him as a vigilante, others, as a bandit. Diego Vega, Zorro, also fought for justice against the problems he encountered along the way.

Murieta left a huge legacy, as her story was told in books and also in songs. In fiction, Zorro also received numerous formats: comics, series, films and other products that stamped the photo of the Latin American hero.

Helen of The Royals

The series The Royals makes a satire on the monarchy of the United Kingdom, and brings a critical view of these public figures. One of the most popular characters is Helena, inspired by Princess Diana. Matriarch of a large family, she has to deal with her reputation and the problems of being constantly watched by the press.

After four seasons, the series was cancelled. Even so, the plot is a full plate for fans of series like Gossip Girl: The Blog Girl and dynasty🇧🇷

Severus Snape in Harry Potter

Chemistry professor John Nettleship inspired JK Rowling to create Severus Snape in Harry Potter, although the author never confirmed it. He discovered his similarities with the villain in the most amusing way possible: one day, a journalist knocked on his door and asked if he wasn’t Professor Snape. Scared, he decided to research and noticed several similarities with the character.

Nettleship was very proud of his outstanding student’s success. Today it’s even hard not to compare Snape’s appearance with John’s, isn’t it?
