This situation may seem unusual, but we will prove that it occurs more often than we can imagine.
On account of this, the awesome.club invites you to remember 10 character changes that marked the soap operas and caught the public’s attention — and don’t miss one bonus with more production curiosities at the end of the article!

In the Mexican version of the telenovela Cúmplices de um Resgate, the protagonist, Belinda, who played the twins Mariana and Silvana, had to “pass the baton” from the main characters to another successful child star at the time: Daniela Luján.

The inspector of one of the most famous schools in television history had to be changed during the airing of the Mexican version. At the time, the star Armando Calvo took the place of the Spanish actor Augusto Benedico. The soap opera, by the way, was so successful in Brazil that it was shown four times and even won a remake.
Another hurried replacement was the late actor Umberto Magnani. In his place, the veteran Carlos Vereza assumed the important role of Father Benício. The replacement involved risks, considering the prime time of production. But it was inevitable: Magnani had suffered a cerebrovascular accident (CVA).
The Mexican soap opera Quando Me Apaixono (aired by SBT) is a remake of the successful Televisa production A Mentira. This one, in turn, also had a remake, and also on SBT: Corações Feridos. Not even one of the most famous soap operas on Rede Globo managed to get rid of the complications generated by changing actresses. In O Clone, Débora Falabella had to be away for some time and her sister, Cynthia Falabella, took on the role during this period.
The production O Diário de Daniela also had a change, in this case, of actor. The story, which was successful in Brazil and in several countries, stunned the public with the change of a remarkable character to the plot: Henrique Monroy went from the star Marcelo Buquet to the also heartthrob Gerardo Murguía.
A character in a children’s soap opera that needed to be changed was Luisa D’Ávila. In this case, the production of SBT had to look for another actress to give life to “Tia Luísa”, as she was known, in As Aventuras de Poliana. The lucky one was Tais Melchior.
The success of the Mexican teledramaturgy Carinha de Anjo had a change in the character Mother Superior. Initially played by Libertad Lamarque, the role passed to Silvia Pinal. In fact, both actresses are veterans and have an extensive television career.
