ᐈ Prayer to the 7 Powers 【For Luck, Prosperity, Love and MORE】

To begin with, it is important to note that when mentioning the Prayer to the 7 Powers we are talking about a prayer to the main deities that make up, direct and guide the Yoruba Pantheon. On the other hand, these deities are the ones that symbolize various aspects in the lives of the faithful and devotees of this religion.

Delve into the history of the 7 Powers to learn everything about them, their benefits including the prayer to the 7 Powers.

History of the Yoruba or Santeria Religion

Certainly one must know the prayers because they allow us to form a connection with the saintsHowever, it is important to know that in order to understand the great power of the 7 Powers, you must have knowledge of their history. Because it is to them that we are going to ask for our well-being.

We can find in the Yoruba religion that Olodumare is the omnipotent God and the only creator of everything that exists., he ordered the creation of the earth, of everything material and immaterial. There are two manifestations of Olodumare, one of them is Olorun (owner of heaven) who remains in contact with men. According to history, Olorun was the one who created the earth and human beings.

In addition, another of the manifestations of Olodumare is Olofi or Olofín (owner of the palace and son of Olodumare), he is the one who is in indirect contact with humans through the Orishas, he is also the one who watches over and directs them.

Olofi was also in charge of granting the Ashé to each orisha. We have these three spiritual entities make up a trilogywhat in Catholicism is called the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

Consequently, these three are the beginning and the end of everything that was created on earth.

Being the Supreme Being, Olodumare did not communicate directly with men, he does so through Orula or Orunmila (main deity of the Yoruba Pantheon), in other words, Olodumare reveals the designs for each man and does so through the powers of divination that he possesses. Orula. The most important thing is that he also knows the destiny, present and past of each one because he witnessed Olodumare in the creation of everything.

In other words, this gives Orula the power of wisdom and intelligence, and makes him a greater Orisha who communicates with men through Ifa (supreme oracle).

With Olodumare’s order to populate the earth, Obatalá appears, sent by Olofi and in charge of this task, as a result he is known as the father of all the Orishas and as Osha de Cabecera, that is, the one who directs all the heads. The stories tell that the Orishas were once human and after their death they live together with Olofi.

From here comes the Yoruba religion that characterizes the santeros (as they are commonly called).

What should you do

The first thing you should do is build an altar that will serve for the ceremony, a tablecloth will be placed on a table, it should preferably be white. Next, the figures or images that belong to the 7 powers are placed.

Then, in the center, there is a ceramic or clay plate and on it a candle of 7 colors, which will symbolize the 7 powers, in case of not getting one like this, a candle or candle of each color (white, purple , blue, green, yellow, orange and red) and one will light up every night.

Once the altar is ready, different offerings are placed, which are particular for each deity and are located on each side of the altar, to complete the offerings we will also place a glass of water, fruits, flowers, honey, brandy and the most important, grated coconut.

The offerings must remain on the altar until they decompose, when that happens, they are removed from the altar and thrown away from the home. An important piece of information is that offerings are renewed only when another request is made.

After the first prayer is finished, the candle is extinguished.

Then, we will perform this ritual for seven consecutive nights in the same way and remembering that at the end of each prayer a promise is made, which you must not forget to keep, because just as the deities offer help, they can also take it away from you.
