When youtuber MrBeast reached 20 million subscribers to his channel, he was challenged to plant 20 million trees around the world. It was from this idea that he created the #TeamTrees project, where he joined other youtubers in the intention of raising 20 million dollars — the amount necessary to carry out this good deed for the planet.

The biggest youtuber in the world, Felix Kjellberg, better known as “PewDiePie”, donated more than 69 thousand dollars🇧🇷 Mark Rober, who also helped organize the project, donated 50 thousand dollars🇧🇷 Streamer “Ninja” and his wife Jessica donated 15 thousand dollars🇧🇷

The donations made by youtubers contributed to the initiative gaining weight and recognition. From that, some gigantic donations came from tech moguls. Here are some examples of the amounts:

To participate in the project, it is not necessary to donate that much money. On the Team Trees website, they say that the cost for the planting of each tree is 1 dollar🇧🇷 Therefore, from 1 dollar upwards, the good action is already in effect.

According to the project’s official website, the “founding” youtubers of the campaign realized that they would need to team up with professionals to plant trees in a sustainable and correct way. So “Team Trees” partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation, an NGO specializing in tree planting, which has over 47 years of experience.

In short, it is the Arbor Day Foundation that decides where the trees will be planted, taking into account the degree of urgency and need in the region. But one thing is certain: the objective of the project is to plant trees on all continents (not called Antarctica 😜).
