Water: warm or cold? Choose and observe your body’s reactions

An adult body is composed of 50% to 60% water. This liquid is vital for our health and crucial for our body to function properly. But how should you drink the water, cold or lukewarm? Which way is better for health? Most of us tend to choose a glass of ice water, especially when it’s too hot, because it’s more refreshing. But in reality, lukewarm proved to be much more beneficial for our health.

O awesome.club made a list of the advantages and disadvantages of drinking warm water and cold water.

Cold water

Cold water – approximately 7°C to 21°C – is fine, especially on a hot summer day. And when we drink from a glass to which we add ice, it makes us feel even more revitalized. However, it has been revealed that people experience a lot of side effects when they hydrate in this way.

1. It can change your digestion

As you consume cold water, your blood vessels constrict, which hampers your digestive ability. This can cause stomach and abdominal pain, as well as constipation.

2. Consumes your energy

3. Lowers your heart rate

Drinking cold water can lower your heart rate. This stimulates the vagus nerve, which forms an important part of the body’s autonomic nervous system. The low temperature of the water acts as an impetus for him to lower his heart rate.

4. Creates mucus in your body

Warm water

Warm water – approximately 26ºC to 41ºC – is not usually consumed this way, as we prefer to drink coffee or tea at this temperature. But in reality, there are many benefits to staying hydrated this way.

1. Detoxify your body

Drinking warm water, especially in the morning, will help you flush out toxins in your body that can contribute to numerous ailments. For a stronger effect, add a slice of lemon: the vitamin C revives the cells, while the warm water detoxifies your body.

2. Combat pain

Warm water has been proven to relieve pain caused by menstruation and headaches as it increases circulation and improves blood flow. It is also recommended if you have cramps, as it helps to relax cramped muscles.

3. Decreases the level of stress

It’s not just a hot shower that can make your stress go away. Try drinking a glass of warm water when you’re stressed. This will help the central nervous system to function properly. Cortisol is one of the stress hormones and being dehydrated makes its level rise. Staying hydrated keeps you more resistant to stress.

4. Helps you lose weight

Drinking water can help you lose weight, but if you drink lukewarm water, your metabolism will be fully activated. It raises the temperature of the body which, while trying to compensate for the temperature difference, already starts to burn calories.

5. Improves blood circulation

6. Helps digestion

Many of us face problems when we go to the bathroom, when there is little or no bowel movement. Dehydration is one of the most common causes of constipation, so water generally stimulates the intestines. Hot water has been shown to be even more effective in improving intestinal transit.

7. Controls premature aging

Aging prematurely is one of the worst nightmares for women. Furthermore, the increasing presence of toxins in a woman’s body can make this nightmare a reality. Warm water can help your body eliminate these toxins.
