Mosquitoes in summer are definitely annoying and often bother us both day and night. It is enough to spend a few minutes in the garden or inside the house to find ourselves full of bites. But these hateful insects can also bother us in the autumn season. It seems that they are less aggressive, but we should not ignore them, since it is time to lay their last eggs and find warm and sheltered places.

The temperatures outside will be lower and the priority will be for them to find warm and humid places inside the house, an optimal climatic environment for mosquitoes. Although we are demanding when it comes to cleaning our home, it may happen that we ignore certain corners or places, where insects will seek refuge without being disturbed, favoring the development of larvae. The consequence could not only be the classic bites, since mosquitoes can, on rare occasions, transmit certain diseases.

They may nest in old buckets, watering cans, basins and saucers where there is a small amount of standing water or a humid environment. Therefore, we try to clean these objects well, dry them and leave some bamboo and a few drops of lemon or mint essential oil nearby. Let's not store cans and jars with liquid inside for many days, empty them completely and throw them away as soon as possible. While adult specimens can take refuge on top of closets or bookcases, curtains, in the corners of windows, under beds, in the drain of the upstairs bathroom. In addition to various devices and insecticides, we can use other simple remedies to keep them away. It seems that copper is a suitable material to prevent the development of larvae even in the presence of water. Therefore, we could insert copper wire into the dishes, even those outside the house.
